'My Troublesome Star' Uhm Jung-hwa returns as a top star who has lost all memories of 25 years due to a career interruption.
On Aug. 18 (Monday) at 10 p.m., the original Genie TV drama 'My Troublesome Star' (directed by Choi Young-hoon, written by Park Ji-ha, planned by KT Studio Genie, produced by Jumbo Film) unveiled a teaser poster and the first teaser video on the 16th, showcasing the tumultuous journey of Bong Cheong-ja (played by Uhm Jung-hwa), who has had 25 years of her life erased.
'My Troublesome Star' is a romantic comedy that depicts the emotional journey of Korea's top star, who suddenly becomes an ordinary middle-aged woman. The comical comeback show of a top star who has jumped 25 years in a flash, along with independent police officer 'Dokgo-cheol (played by Song Seung-heon)' who helps him, evokes laughter, empathy, and excitement. Director Choi Young-hoon, known for his stylish direction in 'One the Woman' and 'Good Casting,' and writer Park Ji-ha, who garnered public sympathy with 'Day and Night,' have teamed up. There is great anticipation for the reunion of the reliable production team that showcased their talents in 'Good Casting.'
Attention is focused on the 10-year reunion of Uhm Jung-hwa and Song Seung-heon, while the teaser poster released on this day hints at the dramatic comeback of the legendary top star 'Im Se-ra (Bong Cheong-ja).' Im Se-ra is gazing into the mirror with a pure and lovely appearance. However, her intense surprise and wide-eyed shock upon seeing her reflection is intriguing. Instead of wearing an evening dress, she is equipped with rubber gloves, and the phrase 'I woke up to find 25 years gone?!' raises curiosity about the tumultuous changes ahead for her.
The first teaser video released alongside shows Bong Cheong-ja, who claims to be 'the former Im Se-ra,' grappling with reality after losing 25 years. Once a 'national first love,' Bong Cheong-ja has become 'just a citizen.' Whether it's a hidden camera or some new form of deception, her reality filled with question marks elicits tears and laughter in her painful comeback show. Additionally, as she asks if he knows her, Dokgo-cheol, initially dismissive, eventually inquires, 'That celebrity Im Se-ra?' raising questions about their relationship.
Uhm Jung-hwa portrays the unpredictable character of 'Bong Cheong-ja,' a top star who has lost all her memories of 25 years. Song Seung-heon takes on the role of 'Dokgo-cheol,' a traffic police officer who has tasted the bitter aspects of life. After an unexpected incident leads to his demotion to the traffic division, he faces a spectacular change when Bong Cheong-ja appears, claiming to be the disappeared top star 'Im Se-ra.'
Meanwhile, the original Genie TV drama 'My Troublesome Star' will first air on Aug. 18 (Monday) at 10 p.m. on Channel ENA, and will be exclusively available as a free VOD immediately after the original broadcast every Monday and Tuesday at 10 p.m. on KT Genie TV.
