'BOYS 2 PLANET' production team revealed the reason for choosing China.
On the morning of the 16th, during the production presentation of Mnet's 'BOYS 2 PLANET' held at The Saint in Guro-gu, Seoul, Chief Producer Kim Shin-young recalled, "There were many participants from the Chinese-speaking region during season 1 of 'BOYS PLANET.' However, since it was conducted as a Korean-language program, the friends we saw during the evaluations couldn't fully develop their individuality and potential."
He emphasized, "This time, it would be good to focus on friends from the Chinese-speaking region. When we planned Twin Planet, I thought it would be good to start in the Chinese-speaking region, so we fixed the current configuration. I kept in mind that 'BOYS PLANET' will expand further in the future."
'BOYS 2 PLANET' (BOYS II PLANET, directed by Kim Shin-young, Jung Wooyoung, and Ko Jung-kyung) will feature 160 boys starting from two different planets, K Planet with 80 members and C Planet with 80 members, who will meet on one planet called 'BOYS 2 PLANET' and embark on a journey towards the 'sun.'
The production team added, "During the planning stage, we considered several plans. At first, we planned to have two debut groups through two programs. However, since the participants from the two planets have different individualities and potentials, we were curious about what kind of synergy would occur when they meet. We decided on the current plan under the judgment that it would be good if they debuted together."
The master lineup for 'BOYS 2 PLANET K' includes Lee Seok-hoon, Kinki, and Kaniga, while Kim Jaejoong, Xiaoting, and Jrick will join 'BOYS 2 PLANET C.' Lim Han-byeol, Hyolyn, Back Kooyoung, and Justhis will serve as common expert masters participating in both 'BOYS 2 PLANET K' and 'BOYS 2 PLANET C.' Along with them, Sung Hanbin and Jang Hao from ZEROBASEONE will take on the roles of special idol masters.
'BOYS 2 PLANET' will start the first broadcast of 'BOYS 2 PLANET K' and 'BOYS 2 PLANET C' on July 17 (Thursday) and 18 (Friday) at 9:20 p.m. on Mnet.
