Highlight member and actor Lee Gi-kwang meets the audience with his film debut 'I Kill You.'
On the 16th, his agency Around Us announced, 'Lee Gi-kwang's leading role in 'I Kill You' has been confirmed for release in theaters on the 23rd.'
The hard-boiled action drama 'I Kill You' was officially screened as a film version at the recently held 29th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN), receiving critical acclaim, and it achieved the honor of winning the 'Méliès Asia Award' from the Méliès International Festivals Federation (MIFF). This has confirmed its theatrical release, promising thrilling action that will captivate audiences this summer.
The main poster and main trailer for 'I Kill You' that were released captured attention with Lee Gi-kwang's transformation into a villain. Portraying the character Ho-jung, the half-brother of Ji-yeon (played by Kang Ji-young), Lee Gi-kwang reveals a brutal wildness behind a gentle appearance, making audiences curious about the character's twists and exhilarating action.
'I Kill You' is the work of director Yu Ha, a master of the action genre known for directing films such as 'Marriage is a Crazy Thing,' 'The Beast and the Beauty,' and 'The Outlaws.' In particular, this marks Lee Gi-kwang's first on-screen debut, increasing fans' interest.
As the main dancer of Highlight who has been crossing over into acting, Lee Gi-kwang expands his activity area once again through 'I Kill You,' embarking on a new leap. His unique transformation, which will explode adrenaline with a character never shown before, is highly anticipated.
Meanwhile, Highlight, of which Lee Gi-kwang is a member, successfully held their 2025 solo concert 'RIDE OR DIE' at the KSPO DOME in Seoul. They will continue the 'RIDE OR DIE' Asia tour in August in Taipei, Macau, Manila, and Tokyo, and in September in Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur.
