BUMSUP was eliminated just before the final.
The 8th episode of Mnet's 'World of Street Woman Fighter' (directed by Kwon Young-chan CP, Choi Jung-nam PD / hereafter 'WSWF'), broadcast on the 15th, presented an intense elimination battle between BUMSUP and MOTIV for the last spot in the final, following the second round of the semifinals - the dance film mission.
The broadcast achieved the number one rating in the 1539 target and 2049 male-female demographics among the same time slot (AGB Nielsen, based on paid subscriptions in the capital area), while TiVING saw real-time viewer share soar to an impressive 95%, proving the show's immense popularity. It also garnered significant attention. 'WSWF' ranked number one for seven consecutive weeks in the TV-OTT non-drama sector's topic rankings released by Good Data Corporation's FUNdex, never relinquishing the top spot.
On that day, the results of the 'dance film mission' were unveiled. Each crew divided the segments to complete one dance film, with a fierce competition among four crews for the main segment themed 'Women.' The highly impactful AG SQUAD utilized chairs as props, demonstrating their strong presence, while BUMSUP showcased their determination to pave their path. MOTIV conveyed the message that there is no justice in 'Queen,' and OSAKA Ojo Gang brought the irreplaceable queen Kyoka to the forefront of the stage. A stage showcasing the unique colors of all four crews was presented, and the main segment's winner was awarded to OSAKA Ojo Gang after a global public evaluation.
The dance film video was filled with three sub-segments and one hidden segment in addition to the main segment. BUMSUP and AG SQUAD took on the 'Fallen Queen' segment and 'Neon Switch' segment, respectively, while MOTIV occupied the 'West Coast Groove' segment and hidden segment, producing a remarkable piece that surprised all the judges. The best dance crew decided through the judges' evaluations was unanimously AG SQUAD.
AG SQUAD, showing outstanding performance in the semifinals, secured the first ticket to the final with additional points from both the global artist performance mission and the dance film mission. Following them, OSAKA Ojo Gang established themselves in second place in the final, while BUMSUP and MOTIV ended up in third and fourth, respectively, competing for survival in the elimination battle.
The elimination battle for the final ticket was conducted as a best-of-five series. Fight judges Park Jin-young, Mike Song, and special judges Poppin'C, KITE, and Ria Kim joined the event. During this time, BUMSUP and MOTIV engaged in an intense struggle, filling all five rounds, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats.
Following the collective victory of MOTIV in the unanimous group battle in the first round, BUMSUP claimed victory in the second round with the perfect synergy of Honey J and Ri.hey, who reunited as 'Purple Flow.' BUMSUP maintained momentum by winning until the 1:1 battle in the third round, thanks to LIP J's performance, but MOTIV's counterattack was formidable. After winning the fourth round, MOTIV continued their winning streak in the fifth round 1:1 battle against Ri.hey and Marlee, becoming the ultimate holder of the final ticket.
BUMSUP did not cross the threshold to the final. After four years since the 'WSWF' syndrome, BUMSUP, which met as one team, overcame an early disadvantage to achieve first place in the mega crew mission, showing growth in every mission. The members, whose emotions were mixed, all shed tears, and leader Honey J remarked, "We fought hard to stay together until the end of the program we started with." She added, "Through 'WSWF', we received immense love and were able to meet this bond. Just meeting the members who became a great strength during the journey makes me truly happy." Aiki noted, "While there was a sense of comradeship before, now it feels like family," adding a poignant note.
Meanwhile, AG SQUAD, MOTIV, and OSAKA Ojo Gang will compete on the final stage of 'WSWF.' The final winning crew will be determined on the 22nd.
