Comedian Mi-ja revealed the reason for filming YouTube content with only her family without any guests.
On the 16th, a video titled "From three years of depression to becoming the 'goddess of drinking broadcasts', Mi-ja's tumultuous life (tears from Jang Young-ran, Mi-ja's tavern, comedian Kim Tae-hyun)" was posted on the YouTube channel 'A-grade Jang Young-ran'.
On that day, when asked about the reason she started YouTube, Mi-ja said, "I was unemployed for a very long time. I had an agency but no work. The company said, 'Are you going to keep doing nothing?' and suggested I do YouTube. But I thought, 'What can I continue with?' and the only thing I could do continuously was drinking."
She continued, "I thought, 'Shall we try a drinking YouTube?' but everyone opposed it. At that time, there were no drinking YouTubers among celebrities, only ordinary people. There were no men, and everyone said I wouldn't be able to get married now and I would never be able to broadcast again. So I thought, 'I am someone who has no work anyway,' and that's how I ended up doing it."
Thus began her drinking broadcasts. Mi-ja started filming alone using her phone without a camera and drank soju by herself. She stated, "I was lonely at that time," and Jang Young-ran marveled, "The reason why Mi-ja's tavern is a hit is that despite being the same format, the views don't drop."
Then, Mi-ja remarked, "I think my husband (Kim Tae-hyun) is smart. Many famous celebrities wanted to come on our channel, but my husband rejected them all."
"When guests start coming once or twice, it becomes less fun for the family, and they can't watch it because it's bland. We need to go long, and we are more like a warm neighborhood family's eating broadcast, not a celebrity eating broadcast. I wanted to meet them, but he flatly refused," she revealed. Upon hearing this, Jang Young-ran commented, "You're not looking at the tree but at the forest," to which Mi-ja agreed, saying, "My husband's thoughts, which are very different from mine, are all correct."
