"Adults can say 'there's nothing to worry about' and brush it off. But what about the wounds that young artists receive?" Singer Kim Tae-yeon has become the center of controversy over the local festival recruitment issue in Jangsu County, eliciting sympathy, while an associate shared the emotional turmoil that has become a hot potato.
On the 16th, an associate who closely observed Kim Tae-yeon told OSEN, "It seems that the conclusion regarding the Jangseong County local festival is that it is ultimately unrelated to the event. I feel sorry and sad that this situation has left only wounds on the child (Kim Tae-yeon)."
Earlier, the 'Jangsu Hanwoo and Apples Festival' garnered attention when a poster revealed that Girls' Generation Taeyeon was included in the festival lineup. However, that was not true. Girls' Generation Taeyeon's side stated that they had not even received contact for recruitment, and it was singer Kim Tae-yeon, who had appeared as a prodigy of Korean traditional music on 'Miss Trot 2', who was scheduled to perform. However, even after both sides' agencies clarified their positions, the situation became controversial as they maintained the stance that 'it was indeed Girls' Generation Taeyeon that was recruited.'
Ultimately, Kim Tae-yeon will not perform at the Jangsu County festival amid the controversy. In this regard, Kim Tae-yeon's associate told OSEN, "The local government claims they did not recruit Kim Tae-yeon, but we did receive an invitation for grants, so there's nothing we can do about it. The agency informed us that they would handle the issues on the first day. However, the county office issued a statement that made no mention of Kim Tae-yeon, leaving only wounds on the artist in this situation."
In particular, he expressed, "It is very regrettable," stating, "Both the agency and Jangsu County have not reached out with a single apology after hurting a minor artist. The explanation from the agency on the first day was just 'there was a mistake.'"
He continued, "We are not unaware of industry trends, but we thought that it was unrealistic for Girls' Generation Taeyeon to attend a local event in terms of appearance fees, and considered it a communication error. However, it's hard to understand how such a result came about."
Most importantly, Kim Tae-yeon's associate expressed concern for the minor artist, who is in a sensitive phase of puberty. He added, "Adults may be able to brush it off. They might think 'there's nothing to worry about.' But the wounds inflicted on a minor artist during such a sensitive time is the biggest concern and the part I worry about the most. We plan to pay the utmost attention to managing the artist."
Kim Tae-yeon was born in 2012 and gained recognition as a prodigy of traditional Korean music, starting pansori and folk songs at the age of just 4. She showcased her talent by reaching 4th place in the TV Chosun entertainment show 'Miss Trot 2.'
