Actor Kang Ha-neul confessed that he suffers from claustrophobia through a broadcast.
On the 15th, Kang Ha-neul, who appeared on SBS's "Timeman Nameun," said, "It's really hard to ride a crowded subway. In the end, I have to get off at the next station and get back on."
Claustrophobia is a type of "specific phobia." It is a mental health disorder characterized by an excessive fear of closed spaces or confined environments, such as elevators, airplanes, and tunnels. Being in a confined space can lead to severe anxiety and fear responses, sometimes resembling panic attacks.
Kang Ha-neul mentioned that he struggles with filming due to severe claustrophobia. He revealed, "These days, the symptoms have worsened to the point that filming in a 레카 (vehicle for indoor filming) has become difficult," adding, "The vehicle is custom-made, so every time there's a cut, I open the window, go outside, and then come back in to continue filming."
