Lee Seok-hoon expressed confidence in the fairness of the production team of 'BOYS 2 PLANET.'
On the morning of the 16th, at the production presentation for Mnet's 'BOYS 2 PLANET' held at The Saint in Guro-gu, Seoul, Chief Producer Kim Shin-young opened the floor to questions about fairness suspicions and allegations of favoritism toward their trainees, stating, "While Wake One is indeed our subsidiary, there are many participants and a substantial number of staff involved in the production."
He added, "Since viewers can feel and understand well, we cannot do that, nor do we have the intention to do so. If we try to create a story or make something stand out without appeal, we believe that the losses outweigh the gains. This is an ongoing audition brand, and we will not make such choices in the future." He emphasized that regarding the broadcast time allocated to each participant, "I have something to convey to the participants. If they possess overwhelming talent, charm, skills, or if their character shines, the likelihood of appearing on the broadcast increases. I stress that they should put in whatever effort they can. If they don't, it's not easy to get on the broadcast."
He also emphasized, "These are the criteria for the broadcast time, but due to broadcast limitations, we prepared various content to ensure that everyone is introduced without omission. We have made efforts for multiple participants to be highlighted and showcase their charms."
'BOYS 2 PLANET' (directed by Kim Shin-young, Jeong Woo-young, and Ko Jeong-gyeong) features boys who started from two different planets, K Planet and C Planet, meeting on one planet called 'BOYS 2 PLANET' and embarking on a journey towards the 'Sun.'
This season, a record number of 160 boys are participating in the survival program, drawing attention even before it begins. Boys who realize their potential will grow through the choices of star creators, and the process to reach the top of K-POP is expected to resonate deeply and intrigue global fans.
Building on last season where there were expert masters and planet masters, 'BOYS 2 PLANET' will also feature special idol masters. The master lineup for 'BOYS 2 PLANET K' includes Lee Seok-hoon, Kinky, and Jrick, while 'BOYS 2 PLANET C' includes Kim Jaejoong, Xiao Ting, and Jrick.
Lim Han-byeol, Hyolyn, Back Kooyoung, and Justthis will work as joint expert masters for 'BOYS 2 PLANET K' and 'BOYS 2 PLANET C.' Additionally, Sung Hanbin and Jang Hao from ZEROBASEONE will provide support and advice to the participants up close as special idol masters.
'BOYS 2 PLANET' will begin its first broadcasts for 'BOYS 2 PLANET K' and 'BOYS 2 PLANET C' on July 17 (Thursday) and 18 (Friday) at 9:20 p.m. on Mnet.
