Legendary comedian Lee Kyung-sil and Jo Hye-ryun have opened a YouTube program titled "New Woman" to target the hearts of women in their 20s and 30s.
"New Woman" is a podcast-style YouTube content where Lee Kyung-sil and Jo Hye-ryun, known as "experienced women with maximum level experiences," discuss various topics and concerns such as marriage, dating, careers, hobbies, health, appearance, self-management, and financial planning for women in their 20s and 30s living in Korea.
"New Woman" will feature comedian Lee Sun-min as the MC, adding different perspectives and viewpoints to the cheerful yet sometimes poignant conversations of Lee Kyung-sil and Jo Hye-ryun. It is reported that Lee Sun-min joined "New Woman" at the active recommendation of Lee Kyung-sil and Jo Hye-ryun.
Lee Kyung-sil and Jo Hye-ryun are two representative comedians in our broadcasting industry who have collaborated for a long time through various programs; however, it is their first time leading content as the main duo. The YouTube content featuring Jo Hye-ryun and Lee Kyung-sil as guests typically starts with a view count of at least 1 million, showcasing their "must-see" chemistry.
The production team of "New Woman" noted, "We have included warm and cheerful stories from 'older sisters' who can empathize with women in their 20s and 30s," adding, "We hope the sincerity of the sisters, who provide support rather than advice and understanding rather than criticism, will be communicated to the subscribers."
Lee Kyung-sil made her debut as an MBC public recruitment comedian through the 1st MBC Comedy Contest. She led the comedy boom of the 1990s and won the grand prize in the comedy category at the MBC Broadcasting Awards for two consecutive years in 1993 and 1994. With a major in acting, she has shown outstanding performances not only in comedy but also in genres such as drama and film.
Jo Hye-ryun debuted as a special recruitment comedian from KBS 10 and quickly rose to stardom by winning the Best Newcomer and Popularity Awards at the KBS Comedy Awards in 1994, the year after her debut. She solidified her position with her bold character performances and is also known as an icon of challenges, having independently ventured into Japan in 2005 and continued to work back and forth between Korea and Japan for ten years.
The first episode of Lee Kyung-sil and Jo Hye-ryun's "New Woman," themed around marriage, will be uploaded on the 15th at 6 p.m. and will be made public every other Wednesday at 6 p.m. through the YouTube channel "Rolling Thunder."
