The performance queen Hwasa from 'Crazy Rich Korean' confessed that she has difficulty hearing in one ear.
The episode aired on KBS 2TV 'Crazy Rich Korean' on the 13th featured a day in the life of two world-class K-people who have mastered their craft, including the performance queen Hwasa.
On that day, Jun Hyun-moo asked while watching a video of Hwasa preparing for her Boston performance, "Which city was the hottest?"
Hwasa replied, "Seattle and LA," adding, "The cheering was so loud that I turned the in-ear monitor volume up to the maximum. Even then, I couldn't hear. If I turn it up to the max, I get tinnitus, and my eardrum gets damaged. Since I couldn't hear at all, I cranked it up to the max, and the in-ear monitor blew out."
Kwak Tu-byu worried, "Isn't that going to hurt your ear if it blows out?" and Hwasa said, "That's why I have trouble hearing in this ear (left ear)." A shocked Jun Hyun-moo asked, "Is it because of this performance?" and Hwasa revealed, "That's not the case. I need to hear loudly, so my eardrum is a little bad. I also always hear tinnitus."
Meanwhile, Hwasa faced a crisis of halting performances due to a toe fracture ahead of her North America tour. She shared, "Two months before the North America tour, I dropped a dumbbell on my toe," saying, "I was so scared when I hurt my toe that I cried. I'm not scared of ghosts, and don't they say life is the scariest? I said I hurt my toe, but the world seemed so scary. I was afraid I might not be able to do it again."
