Comedian Hwang Je-seong revealed that his name before he changed it was "Hwang Je."
On the 14th, a video featuring Kim Joon-hyun and Hwang Je-seong as guests was uploaded to the YouTube channel Zzanbro hosted by Shin Dong-yup.
That day, Hwang Je-seong confessed that his real name during childhood was not Hwang Je-seong, stating, "It was originally Hwang Je. I was called 'Je-ya, Je-ya' like that," capturing attention.
He explained that he changed his name in the 5th grade, saying, "It was absurd that I had to change my name. In elementary school, I often got angry over silly things. I wasn't displeased while being teased until the 4th grade. However, at the end of 4th grade, a kid named 'Wang Je' transferred to our school."
Shin Dong-yup and Kim Joon-hyun expressed disbelief, saying, "Isn't it made up?" Hwang Je-seong reacted with indignation, stating, "He's also a single character. It's real. If it's a lie, kill me."
Hwang Je-seong said, "I was okay with it. It didn't matter whether he came or not. But people around me stirred things up, saying, 'What are you going to do?' and 'Isn't Wang Je stronger than Hwang Je?' Hearing that continuously caused me stress in the 5th grade. I immediately went to my parents and expressed my desire to change my name."
He added with a laugh, "Eventually, I went to a naming agency and paid 5 million won to change my name. The options were Je-deok, Je-cheon, and Je-seong, and for some reason, I was drawn to Je-seong. I changed my name because of Wang Je."
