Dr. Oh Eun-young shed tears as she recalled her father, who passed away last year, through 'Oh Eun-young Stay.'
During the broadcast of MBN's 'Oh Eun-young Stay' on the 14th, a story about a 'stone father' whose relationship with his sons was awkward was introduced. While watching this, Oh Eun-young cautiously shared her own story.
"It's been a year since my father passed away," said Oh Eun-young as she recalled, "My father loved me so much. When I was in medical school, he bought me a used car and would warm it up every morning, rain or shine." She reminisced about her caring father and added, "If I came home late, he would wait in the living room until I arrived and always worried about me."
As time passed and her father's health weakened significantly, Oh Eun-young said, "During my time overseas, my father fell and suffered a fracture that made it difficult for him to move. He needed painkillers, but he waited, saying, 'My beloved daughter has come,' until the day I returned home."
"That day, he held my hand tightly and said, 'I waited for you.' Calling my name several times, he told me, 'I was really happy to have a daughter like you. I love you so much and I am proud of you,'" said Oh Eun-young, who ultimately couldn't hold back her tears.
She continued, "I also cried while holding my father, shouting, 'My father taught me love. I learned love from my father.'" She added that after sharing their final goodbyes, her father was moved to the intensive care unit the next day and passed away in June 2023.
Oh Eun-young urged, "If your parents are around, you can touch them and hear their voices. I hope you express 'I love you' to your children," as she became teary-eyed.
