On the 14th broadcast of KBS Joy's 'Ask Us Anything Fortune Teller', Seo Jang-hoon offered practical advice to a listener who is going through a divorce lawsuit.
The listener said they are currently contemplating divorce from their husband. The listener remarked, "As I am trying to get a divorce, my husband said that all the living expenses he has given me so far were debts. He said they were borrowed money from the card," adding, "If I repay that money, 80 million won will be left over, and he said he would only provide that.
The listener shared their concerns, saying, "After filing for the lawsuit, I found out there were more debts my husband had hidden. There was a debt secured by the house. When I asked what that was, he didn't respond."
The listener said her husband has a house in Chuncheon, but it turns out that there is debt secured to that house as well. The listener remarked, "He said he would give me 80 million won, but I don't know if I can actually receive that," adding, "I was notified to receive 35 million won as a compromise offer."
The listener said she is contemplating whether to give up on asset partitioning and end the lawsuit with her husband. Recently, Seo Jang-hoon, who has been meeting various couples through the 'Divorce Reflection Camp', offered practical advice.
Seo Jang-hoon advised, "It's too precious and difficult to prolong the lawsuit any longer in your life. You can still live happily right now. It's unfortunate, but I think you need to forget about the issues with your husband and find freedom of heart."
Seo Jang-hoon mentioned, "The children also need to think carefully. While mom can maintain a livelihood when she is young, it is important for the children to care for mom from the side. Since mom will be alone, they need to pay more attention than now."
Seo Jang-hoon stated, "The husband also needs to get his act together. I hope he gives the 35 million won that was awarded in the judgment, out of courtesy for a person he has lived with for over 30 years and has two sons with."
