Oh Na-ra was portrayed on the SBS entertainment show 'My Ugly Duckling' (hereinafter referred to as Miu-sae) that aired on the 13th.
On that day, Oh Na-ra reminisced about the financially tough times, saying, 'During the time when I solved meals with a portable burner in a semi-basement, I made braised hairtail for my boyfriend's birthday, and he ate four bowls of rice. He still thanks me while talking about it.' This stirred deep emotions. Oh Na-ra recalled, 'Even now, that taste can't be replicated,' sharing the rich memories of her long-term partner.
However, Oh Na-ra's confession did not stop there. Recently appearing on a YouTube broadcast, she shared the shocking story of the 'nine months of homelessness' she experienced after becoming involved with Kim Do-hoon.
According to Oh Na-ra, she had to return to Korea due to paperwork issues while working in a Japanese theater during the IMF crisis, and someone in the theater, who had anti-Korean sentiments, intentionally failed to send her documents, preventing her from returning to Japan for a long time. Kim Do-hoon, who was in Japan with her at that time, waited on the streets for an astonishing nine months amidst the uncertainty of 'not knowing when she would return.' Oh Na-ra's words conveyed their painful time together: 'We really had nothing. We lived like beggars on both sides. Every day, we prayed, asking that we could be together again.'
She revealed, 'Somehow, I borrowed money to buy a plane ticket and went back to Japan, but I didn't recognize my brother waiting for me at the airport. I saw a very skinny, staggering stranger and wondered, 'Who is that person?' That was my brother.' Upon returning to the theater, Oh Na-ra later found out that the document mishap was intentional, and it was only then that she could return to normal life with her partner.
They have been together for an impressive 25 years. Kim Do-hoon and Oh Na-ra first met through the musical 'Myeongseong Hwanghu' in 2000, and have since become a couple, living as close companions without getting married. Regarding marriage plans, she stated, 'I still don't feel the need. I am happy enough now.'
