Singer and actor Hanni (formerly of EXID, born Ahn Hee-yeon) recently revealed the reason she had stayed away from the public and spent time in India.
On the 14th, Hanni appeared on MBN's 'Oh Eun-young Stay.'
That day, Hanni confessed, "I started my career as a celebrity too early, and after my contract ended, I realized how little I knew about the world" and added, "I lived like a frog in a well, and I couldn't answer what kind of person I am."
Hanni said she started a journey to rediscover herself after going through that chaotic time. "During my time searching for myself, I came to encounter meditation. I backpacked and did temple stays, and eventually ended up in India," she noted, adding, "The first monk I met told me not to try to do what 'that person' wants, and I cried a lot over those words."
Hanni actually surprised fans by sharing her experience in Dharamsala, India, in March. Located in the Himalayas, Dharamsala is known as the residence of the Tibetan government in exile and the Dalai Lama. Hanni chose that place not for a simple trip, but for a "pause" to confront her true self.
She also shared photos with people she met in India and said, "In a place where real, living people exist, I became a little less complicated."
