The group Girls' Generation's Taeyeon faced a difficult situation with the rumors of her grants to an event in Jangsu County, North Jeolla Province and trot singer Kim Taeyeon.
On the 14th, an online community and social media revealed a poster indicating that Taeyeon would perform at the 'Jangsu Hanwoo and Apples Festival' taking place in Jangsu-eup, Jangsu County in September, sparking public interest. Taeyeon's participation in the local event attracted a lot of attention from fans, and some speculated that there was confusion involving trot singer Kim Taeyeon.
However, as netizens continued to share testimonies confirming Taeyeon's grants for the festival, expectations grew, but her agency denied it, revealing that Taeyeon's participation was not true.
Taeyeon's agency, SM Entertainment, stated to OSEN on that day, "It is not true that Taeyeon will be participating in the event in Jangsu County. We have not been contacted about this," and added, "We hope fans do not get confused."
In relation to this, a representative from Jangsu County stated through various media that it was true they had approached Girls' Generation's Taeyeon, but it fell through afterward, indicating there seemed to be a misunderstanding during the process. Regarding trot singer Kim Taeyeon's involvement, it was confirmed to be false.
However, Kim Taeyeon's agency, K Tigers Entertainment, clarified to OSEN that they received confirmation from the agency that it was indeed arranged through discussions with the county office. Nevertheless, they expressed discomfort regarding the communication issues with the Jangsu County officials.
In this way, as Jangsu County and each agency show differing positions, the managing agency has not provided a specific statement.
