Lee Chan-hyuk's second full album [EROS] was released today (14th) at 6 p.m. This solo album comes approximately 2 years and 9 months after the first full album [ERROR], showcasing a more solid musical world and drawing intense interest.
While the previous work [ERROR] started from the question of 'the last moments of life', [EROS] goes further to sing about 'the death of others' and the various emotions faced from it. It offers a deep resonance by completing the attitude of accepting the amplified inner deficiencies from the absence of a precious being with his own music.
The title track 'Vividlaralove', which resonates with the album title [EROS], raises the question of 'does true and ideal love exist?' As Lee Chan-hyuk unfolds the lyrics in his unique calm tone, the rhythmic drum beats and funky bass, along with rich instrumental sources, enhance the enjoyment of listening.
In addition, the tracklist is adorned with a broad spectrum that is splendid. The song 'SINNY SINNY', which interweaves a dystopian atmosphere with a hopeful melody, and 'I went crazy', which impresses with its 1980s-90s retro synthesizer, address the experiences of loss and the cracks in emotions, signaling the start of the narrative woven throughout [EROS].
Following that, there are diverse tracks filled tightly with the sound of 'TV Show', reminiscent of TV shows, 'Extinction Crisis Love', which evokes nostalgia from the 1960s-70s, the upbeat style of New Jack Swing in 'Eve', the calm and static 'Andrew', the dreamy mood of 'Tail', and the unique mechanical sound utilizing a vocoder in 'Shining World'.
Once again, Lee Chan-hyuk took charge of writing and composing all songs, promising an album rich in delicate storytelling and unique emotions. Along with him, Millennium (MILLENNIUM) and Sihwang (SIHWANG), who have collaborated on numerous hit songs, contribute their strength to ensure a high level of completeness, hinting at another dazzling synergy.
Meanwhile, AKMU, of which Lee Chan-hyuk is a member, will hold the '2025 AKMU STANDING CONCERT [The Kids]' from August 8 to 24 at Myunghwa Live Hall in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. This unique concert is set to be held standing for a total of 9 shows over three weeks, with a different setlist each week, generating anticipation.
