Artist maker Kim Yoon-ah from ENA 'House of Girls' gave painful advice to Ara, Yoo-ah, and Giselle, who are in crisis due to teamwork collapse.
The 8th episode of ENA 'House of Girls,' aired on Nov. 11, depicted the competition in which the 'Hao Girl Musicians' Bamsem, View, Seori, Sian, Ara, Young-joo, Yoo-ah, Giselle, and Kises formed teams of 'three members each' to begin the 'Triple Unit Mission.' In particular, it was impressive to see artist makers Kim Yoon-ah, Yang Dong-geun, Shin Yong-jae, and So-you providing cold yet realistic advice to the unit that experienced 'teamwork collapse,' helping them grow.
Previously, the 'Hao Girl Musicians' who finished the lyric mission 'My Song' entered the 5th round competition of the 'Triple Unit Mission' and started a 'mind game' regarding unit composition. Above all, the artist makers visited the 'house' to directly adjust the unit composition for the nine musicians, raising anticipation for the three units to be presented by the 'Hao Girl Musicians' and their three new songs. First, the unit to sing 'Stay Where You Are' was confirmed as View, Seori, and Sian. Kim Yoon-ah explained, "This song can generate the brightest energy, so I thought it would suit View and Sian. I believe Seori can do well in any unit, but I judged it as an opportunity to try a style she has not been able to attempt until now, so I included her in this unit."
Next, regarding the song 'Tempo,' Yang Dong-geun named Young-joo, Kises, and Bamsem, expressing, "The beat has a hip vibe, which reminded me of Bamsem, and I feel Young-joo's vocals will blend in with lively elements, while Kises will punctuate this song, so I formed the unit around them." Finally, Shin Yong-jae confirmed Giselle, Yoo-ah, and Ara as the unit to sing 'One Kiss, Two Hearts,' stating, "Since this is an R&B song, I believe each of their roles will be clearly defined. First, I think Giselle will provide an overall anchor, and Ara could give strength as the 'kick' of the song. I'm looking forward to seeing what performance Yoo-ah will show in a tempo like this." After the heated announcement of the unit matching results, managing director Lee Yi-kyung unexpectedly announced, "A second elimination will occur through this competition, resulting in someone leaving the 'house.'" He continued, "After the competition, the unit with the highest score will have all members survive, while two from the units in 2nd and 3rd will face a 'death match.' Afterward, only one of the four can continue in the competition," shocking everyone.
Amid a heavy atmosphere, each unit began practice with the artist makers. Shin Yong-jae advised Yoo-ah, one of the three gathered for 'One Kiss, Two Hearts,' who mentioned, "I feel like I'm significantly distant from the performance style I've done so far, so I'm confused," saying, "This song definitely requires a performance part. I believe Yoo-ah will excel in the leader role for that part." Kim Yoon-ah met with the 'Stay Where You Are' unit and told Sian, who was troubled, "You're generally someone who gets quite nervous on stage. This is my first time on such a big stage in my life," adding, "All three of you are shining presences on stage, so don't let fear take over. As long as you have a target, it's important to gather your heart to reach it. I support you to come in first with this new combination." Yang Dong-geun cheered the unit singing 'Tempo' saying, "Each person's charm is remarkable. That's enough on its own!" However, contrary to Yang Dong-geun's expectations, Young-joo and Bamsem had conflicts over the leader position and part distribution, leading to intense conflicts throughout practice, resulting in Young-joo shedding tears. Fortunately, they restored teamwork towards the end of practice, with Bamsem expressing satisfaction by saying, "Young-joo unnie, you're really amazing~" regarding the unit.
Finally, the day of the 5th round competition arrived. The stage prepared by Young-joo, Bamsem, and Kises for 'Tempo' unfolded first. The three appeared in a sexy manner that matched the mood of the song, showcasing an attractive harmony. After the stage, So-you remarked, "I think the amount of practice must have been tremendous. They achieved a distribution of parts where each team member could shine, and I really want to praise that. However, I felt a bit lacking in terms of song interpretation," sending applause of encouragement.
Next, Giselle, Yoo-ah, and Ara, who were to present 'One Kiss, Two Hearts,' appeared. However, the behind-the-scenes news that they had been locked in a power struggle during practice was delivered to the four artist makers, raising curiosity. In the VCR released immediately afterward, they exhibited a cold atmosphere, sparking disagreements over the balance between vocals and performance. Yoo-ah insisted, "Since the choreography has less emphasis in the song itself, we need to pay attention to the little details," while Ara countered, "Isn't the song more important? If dance is so essential, shouldn't a dancer do it?" Giselle echoed Yoo-ah's attitude of saying, "If you're not good at dancing, it's right to keep doing it until you are," expressing disappointment that while Yoo-ah's ambition is good, being overly obsessed with dance in the context of her shortcoming in vocals was unfortunate, forming a 2:1 dynamic with Ara.
In a tense atmosphere, the stage for 'One Kiss, Two Hearts' was unveiled. Although the three showcased their best efforts by utilizing their respective strengths, the evaluations from the artist makers were poor. So-you pointed out, "First of all, the teamwork earns a 'zero.' When one person was singing, the other two were just silently watching.", while Kim Yoon-ah gave painful advice, stating, "I did not feel that this team was harmonizing on stage at all. Even if the interpersonal relationship was not good, they should have hidden that part on stage."
