Igucci Lee clarified the rumors about immigrating to Japan.
On the 9th, the MBC entertainment program 'Radio Star' (hereinafter 'RAS') featured Heo Young-man, Choiza, Igucci Lee, and Park Eun-young amidst the 'Hororok! Foodie Road' special.
On that day, Yuse-yun mentioned, "Recent rumors about immigration to Japan have become a hot topic." Igucci Lee said, "It is true that I found a house in Tokyo. It's only been about three months," and added, "I've had a lot less work in Korea, so all my regular gigs have ended, and I didn't want to just sit around waiting without work in Korea."
She further stated, "I originally traveled to nearby Japan a lot, and I thought, should I film content there? It felt too uncomfortable to just relax. So, I thought about renting a place to reduce accommodation costs, and that's how it started."
Igucci Lee continued, "I filmed something, and the first episode was uploaded after a long time. But the article made it look like I've immigrated. I've received so many messages. Some people felt sorry for me, but I can come to Seoul anytime. I've only been in Japan for about ten days, and today I returned because of RAS."
Moreover, Igucci Lee caught attention by admitting that she has become a frugal person to save living expenses. She said, "I went over there because I don't have much work. The rent for my house in Japan is 1.3 million won, and to live like this, I have to give something up. I sold the camper I used to enjoy driving, and since private tutoring in Japan was too expensive, I replaced it with an AI teacher."
She even added that the kitchen supplies street is a 10-minute walk away, and three grocery stores are also a 10-minute walk, so she prefers walking over taking a taxi. She expressed pride in her home by saying, "If you live well in Korea, you can see Namsan. But from here, you can see the Skytree. It's a bit visible, and even though the rent is 1.3 million won, it feels somewhat okay."
Then Kim Gu-ra asked, "Do you save money even though you have it because of some vague anxiety?" Igucci Lee revealed, "I tend to be the type who spends money. So, I keep my money tied up in the house. When I earn a lot, I tie that money up in the house. So I don't have cash available for immediate use."
Igucci Lee also noted, "Of course, I could sell the house, but if I do, I feel like I would collapse. I want to hold on to it, and even if I have to sell it when times get tough." She continued, "I can film and do everything, so I think I should challenge myself like I did when I was a rookie. I'm working alone now, and it's very exciting. Even though I'm forty, I feel like a young adult, and it's thrilling."
Meanwhile, Choiza stated that he has a connection with Igucci Lee, saying, "Igucci Lee is the one who owns the building housing the D Duo studio." Igucci Lee explained, "D Duo was originally on the second floor of the building, and I moved in later. When I heard that D Duo was there, I thought this building must be attractive to artists, and it had a significant impact on my decision to sign."
Then Kim Gook-jin double-checked, "Is Igucci Lee a building owner?" and Igucci Lee confirmed, "Yes," while expressing her regret that the Dynamic Duo has moved out of her building. To this, Choiza added, "They left because there wasn't much work for them there."
