'Last Assignment' is a film that tells the story of children achieving their last assignment with the temporary homeroom teacher, who has their own unique style. Director Lee Jung-cheol, who has received acclaim for portraying various forms of family with warmth through the films 'My Heart is 2', which captured the hearts of the entire nation with cheerful laughter and emotion, and 'Family', which depicted the strong familial love between a terminally ill father, his late-born son, and their delinquent daughter, continues this narrative style in 'Last Assignment', a heartfelt drama that aims to teach children the true meaning of dreams and happiness through the unique lessons of temporary homeroom teacher 'Kim Young-nam'. It is set to grace theaters this summer.
Eom Tae-woong, who plays the lead role in the film, noted, "This project is meaningful as I participated after a long time. As soon as I read the script, my heart warmed," expressing his feelings about his comeback film. Particularly, regarding the director Lee Jung-cheol, with whom he reunited after the film 'Family', he said, "We have a long-standing relationship since I was a newcomer. He is a tenacious director, so I have unwavering faith in him. It is a fortune to work on this project with him," revealing his deep trust. Eom Tae-woong introduced his character, a teacher 'Kim Young-nam', saying, "If there had been a teacher like this, my school life would have been a little more fun and happy." Additionally, he mentioned, "'Last Assignment' is a warm film that can resonate greatly with its calm yet delicate direction by Director Lee Jung-cheol," piquing curiosity about the viewing experience.
