The group ENHYPEN has added another achievement in Japan with their mini album 'DESIRE: UNLEASH.'
According to the Japan Record Association on the 10th, ENHYPEN (Jungwon, Heesung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, Niki) has received a gold disc 'platinum' certification for 'DESIRE: UNLEASH,' which was released on the 5th of last month, surpassing a cumulative shipment of 250,000 copies as of June. The Japan Record Association certifies based on cumulative album shipments each month, categorizing them as 'gold' (100,000), 'platinum' (250,000), and 'double platinum' (500,000 copies).
As a result, ENHYPEN has received its 14th gold disc certification overall. Notably, they have achieved this certification for three consecutive albums, including their second full album 'ROMANCE: UNTOLD' and the repackaged version 'ROMANCE: UNTOLD -daydream-' released last year, demonstrating their strong local popularity.
'DESIRE: UNLEASH' swept the top of major album charts in Japan upon its release. The album topped six categories, including Oricon's 'Daily Album Ranking,' 'Weekly Album Ranking,' 'Weekly Combined Album Ranking,' and Billboard Japan's 'Hot Album,' 'Top Album Sales,' and 'Download Album.' In particular, the album showed its strength by entering the 'Top 10' for both the 'Combined Album Ranking' and 'Album Ranking' in the Oricon 'First Half Ranking 2025' with just three days of performance.
Not only in Japan but also on major charts domestically and internationally, the album has made a significant impact. It recorded the second-highest initial sales (album sales in the week immediately following release) among K-pop albums released this year, with 2.14 million copies sold, dominating the Hanteo Chart and Circle Chart weekly album charts. Additionally, it entered the main album chart 'Billboard 200' at No. 3 (as of June 21) and has maintained its ranking for four consecutive weeks.
Following the mini album, ENHYPEN is expected to make a splash across the Japanese archipelago this summer. They are set to release their fourth Japanese single '宵 -YOI-' on the 29th. The title track 'Shine On Me,' which was pre-released on the 4th, is featured as the ending theme for the Japanese drama 'I Want to Catch a Shrimp (海老だってが釣りたい)' and is loved by many.
ENHYPEN will continue their 'ENHYPEN WORLD TOUR 'WALK THE LINE' IN JAPAN -SUMMER EDITION-' following their performances at Tokyo's Ajinomoto Stadium on the 5th and 6th and will perform at Osaka's Yanmar Stadium Nagai on the 2nd and 3rd of next month. They made a significant impression with a powerful performance in Tokyo, entering the Japanese stadium as the overseas artist with the shortest period (4 years and 7 months) since debut.
