'The Colorful Days' has released its first teaser video, which contains intergenerational conflicts.
KBS 2TV's new weekend drama 'The Colorful Days' (directed by Kim Hyung-seok / written by So Hyun-kyung / produced by Studio Coming Soon, Studio Spring, Monster Union) is a family melodrama about the generational empathy regarding 'everyone has colorful days, whether now, in the past, or in the future, with each colorful day bearing different meanings.'
The teaser video released today, 10th, begins with a scene of a father and son from the MZ generation, Lee Ji-hyuk (played by Jung Il-woo) and the older generation, Lee Sang-cheol (played by Chun Ho-jin), arm wrestling, representing their contrasting values regarding marriage. The son, Ji-hyuk, says, 'It's not an era where a son can just be the head of the household anymore,' while the father, Sang-cheol, retorts, 'Is it again because of that era?' showcasing a realistic conflict between the generations.
As the conflict intensifies, Ji Eun-oh (played by Jung In-sun), Park Seong-jae (played by Yoon Hyun-min), Kim Da-jeong (played by Kim Hee-jung), Lee Soo-bin (played by Shin Soo-hyun), and Lee Ji-wan (played by Son Sang-yeon) draw attention as they watch the tense standoff between the father and son.
Then, with a gunshot, the black-and-white scene quickly transitions to color as shimmering paper flakes rain down, dramatically altering the atmosphere. Standing at the focal point of everyone's attention, Jo Ok-rye (played by Ban Hyo-jeong) lightheartedly says, 'It's really a good day,' bringing the situation to a close. This scene, wrapped up with a cheerful touch, raises expectations for the vibrant and tumultuous family narrative that will unfold.
'The Colorful Days' strongly captures the clash of values between father and son regarding marriage through its first teaser video, evoking deep empathy among viewers. Attention is focused on how their journey, which traverses conflict, understanding, and reconciliation, will convey genuine 'colorful days' that resonate emotionally.
'The Colorful Days' will premiere as a follow-up to 'Eagle Five' on Saturday, August 9, at 8 p.m.
