The 'Breaking Project Camp' was successfully held from July 4th to 5th at the Grand Ballroom on the 11th floor of the Best Western Premier Incheon Airport Hotel located in Jung-gu, Incheon.
Co-hosted by the SBS Culture Foundation and the Korean Breaking Federation, this camp is one of the support programs for the winners of the 'Breaking Project' and provided participants with various professional training programs.
This program featured instructor Jeong Hyun-hee, who is recognized as the only 'breaking historian' in the world, delivering an in-depth lecture on the history and culture of breaking. Additionally, instructor So Jae-hwan, who served as the first national team coach for breaking and led the national breaking team at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games and the 2024 Paris Olympics, also participated to provide high-level practical training.
The 'Breaking Project' is a program that started in 2021 aimed at discovering and nurturing breaking talent in Korea, initiated following the adoption of breaking as an official event in the 2024 Paris Olympics. It provides benefits that support outstanding winners for one year, contributing to the development of breaking culture in the country.
Meanwhile, the 9th Breaking Project is scheduled to take place on August 23rd at the Ivex Studio in Gwangmyeong. This competition will be divided into three institutional sectors: open, rising star, and junior, where breaking participants of various ages will compete.
