As audience expectations are gradually rising, the film's highlight points have been unveiled.
Director Lee Sang-geun and Im Yoon-a reunited this summer with 'Pretty Crazy,' following their successful collaboration in 'Exit,' which attracted 9.42 million viewers in 2019, creating a hot box office sensation in Korea's summer cinema. 'Pretty Crazy' tells the story of a young unemployed man, Gil-gu (played by Ahn Bo-hyun), who gets an extraordinary part-time job watching over 'Seon-ji' (Im Yoon-a), who wakes up as a demon every dawn, leading to a hilarious comedy filled with soul-crushing moments.
'Pretty Crazy' is gaining attention as a potential summer box office hit, especially since the creators from 'Exit' have come together once again. From producer Baek Hyun-ik to cinematographer Kim Il-yeon, lighting director Kim Min-jae, and art director Chae Kyung-sun, the main production team from 'Exit' has reunited, and under Director Lee Sang-geun's unique, harmless, and vibrant style, the film has been carefully crafted by these veteran professionals.
Director Lee Sang-geun noted, "Since we are working with the same team as 'Exit,' it was a set where we shared and understood many human aspects and how actress Im Yoon-a approaches the scene."
Im Yoon-a and Ahn Bo-hyun have their shocking first meeting through 'Pretty Crazy.' Im Yoon-a plays Seon-ji, who runs an ordinary bakery during the day but wakes up as a high-level demon in the early morning, while Ahn Bo-hyun portrays Gil-gu, a young unemployed man who passes his days in monotony after quitting his job, who accidentally learns of Seon-ji's special secret, becoming her protector every dawn during a challenging part-time job. The two are expected to showcase surprising chemistry that they've never shown before, demonstrating a connection that goes beyond simple colleagues to a real-life interplay akin to Seon-ji and Gil-gu.
"Throughout every scene, we researched together and matched our performances, which made the two grow much closer. Their chemistry became a powerful strength of the film. Due to their noticeable size difference, the so-called 'size chemistry' worked well," said Director Lee Sang-geun, expressing expectations for both their acting chemistry and visuals on screen.
'Pretty Crazy' features a plot where a type I Seon-ji awakens as a terrifying demon at night while a young man who spends his days in monotony accidentally learns of her secret, leading him to start a challenging part-time job protecting her. Director Lee Sang-geun's pure and unique ideas are evident throughout the film. Additionally, the character Jang-soo (played by Sung Dong-il), a demon dad who has kept his daughter's chilling secret for many years, and Ara (played by Joo Hyun-young), a distinctly unique MZ cousin who bakes bread in the morning, manages the store during the day, and wants to go to clubs at night, showcase the acting prowess that challenges the demonic grip.
