tvN presents a new concept dating reality show featuring celebrities as matchmakers.
The new tvN show 'The Real Okay Person (directed by Shin So-young)', which will premiere on Aug. 3, is a program where celebrities play matchmakers to introduce their truly great friends. It promises to provide unique entertainment that differentiates itself from other dating shows by showcasing the matching reality of celebrities' close friends.
The lineup is also impressive. Cho Sae-ho, Kang So-ra, Kim Nam-hee, Heo Young-ji, Lee Mi-joo, Ji Ye-eun, Kim Young-kwang, and Lee Kwan-hee will appear as celebrity matchmakers, directly facilitating meetings between friends with genuine 'authenticity' in dating. The moments of observing and interfering in their friends' romances are also major points of interest.
Cho Sae-ho is recognized as a leading figure in entertainment and well-known for his extensive network. His recent wedding that became a topic of discussion due to its star-studded guest list has already sparked excitement about which friends he will bring. The arrival of actress Kang So-ra, known for dramas like 'Misaeng' and the film 'Sunny,' is also highly anticipated. Kang So-ra showcased her endearing charm and remarkable appeal during a friendship trip with fellow cast members from 'Sunny.' Kim Nam-hee has gained attention for his impressive character portrayals in dramas like 'Mr. Sunshine' and 'The Heirs.' His inclusion, being a rarely seen actor in variety shows, has raised expectations.
The participation of Heo Young-ji, Lee Mi-joo, and Ji Ye-eun, who will add extra excitement to 'The Real Okay Person,' is also generating interest. Heo Young-ji, a former member of the girl group Kara, has established herself as a versatile entertainer by consistently engaging in music, acting, and variety shows. Lee Mi-joo, also a former member of Lovelyz, adds vitality to every program she joins with her lively charm and candid humor. Ji Ye-eun, who has received much love as a major MZ character in variety shows, including 'SNL Korea' and 'Running Man,' is looking forward to her new challenge of matchmaking for a friend.
The addition of former athletes is another point of interest not to be missed. Kim Young-kwang, a former soccer player, made his mark as a national team goalkeeper and has been showcasing his presence on various programs since retiring. Active professional basketball player Lee Kwan-hee, often referred to as the 'Park Bo-gum of the basketball world,' is gaining considerable popularity. After rising to fame in the global dating reality show 'Single's Inferno 3,' many are curious about what he will bring to 'The Real Okay Person.'
'The Real Okay Person' is already drawing attention with its fresh lineup that crosses various fields and ages. The promotional image released features all eight celebrity matchmakers, from Cho Sae-ho to Kang So-ra, Kim Nam-hee, Heo Young-ji, Lee Mi-joo, Ji Ye-eun, Kim Young-kwang, and Lee Kwan-hee, alongside the tagline 'the matching reality guaranteed by stars,' showcasing the program's identity.
