"K-Pop Demon Hunters" is being mentioned as a candidate for the Academy Awards soundtrack.
Billboard reported on the 8th that Netflix plans to submit the soundtrack "Golden" from the movie "K-Pop Demon Hunters" (abbreviated as KDH) for the Academy Awards soundtrack institutional sector.
"Golden" is one of the soundtracks from "K-Pop Demon Hunters," co-composed by five people including Kim Eun-jae, Mark Sonnenblick, Idio, 24, and Teddy. "K-Pop Demon Hunters" has reached number one in the Netflix movie category and is receiving great love alongside the popularity of K-Pop. Soundtracks from "KDH," including "Soda Pop," are dominating music charts in various countries.
Among them, the single album "Golden," released on the 4th, has met the conditions to be submitted for the Academy Awards soundtrack. If the nomination for the Academy Awards soundtrack category is confirmed for "Golden," the composers will also become the first Korean composers to be nominated in that institutional sector, attracting even more attention.
The Academy Awards recently shared a clip of "Golden" on its official social media. Additionally, they noted, "The Huntresses not only saved the world but also saved my Spotify." The Huntresses are a K-Pop idol group disguising themselves as hunters who stop the evil spirits in "KDH."
