'Together with Park Won-sook' singer Hyun-hee, who marks her 50th debut anniversary, referred to her past, stating that despite having left countless hit songs over the past half century, her life has been more challenging than anyone else's.
On the 7th, during the KBS2TV entertainment show 'Together with Park Won-sook,' Hyun-hee shared a shocking story about nearly being scammed again.
Previously, Hyun-hee married a businessman who was older than her in 1984 due to a premarital pregnancy, but they divorced four years after welcoming their first daughter. She had to part ways with her daughter, who was just six years old at the time. Afterward, in 1990, she remarried actor Kim Dong-hyun and had one son and one daughter, but they divorced again in 2019, nearly 30 years later.
The greatest hardship, however, was her ex-husband's 'debt.' Hyun-hee found herself bearing the burden of Kim Dong-hyun's debt, facing an obligation to repay as much as 20 billion won. She felt as if she was standing on the edge of a cliff, but Hyun-hee quietly endured that time.
But the trials did not end there. During the show, she confessed to an experience of almost falling victim to a scam, surprising everyone.
In the past, when she was running a live café, a terminally ill woman identifying herself as a fan appeared along with a group of men. The woman, who was battling cancer, claimed that she was fated to die soon and wanted to pass her building and assets onto Hyun-hee. However, sensing something suspicious, Hyun-hee recalled, "I was worried that once the title was transferred, there could be a seizure."
Afterward, the two continued to cleverly visit Hyun-hee, trying to build a relationship, and the terminally ill woman even went so far as to say, 'I see gold bullion piling up behind you.' It was a classic scam tactic. Hyun-hee revealed, 'The persistence of con artists is truly something one cannot withstand.'
It doesn't end here. She also recounted almost falling victim to a voice phishing scam that impersonated her daughter. Hyun-hee stated, "One day, I received a message saying, 'Mom, my phone is broken. Please send me your social security number.'" She felt suspicious and immediately called her daughter, thankfully preventing any harm.
Having faced such close calls with scams, Hyun-hee conveyed a sense of resilience. Despite the 20 billion won in debt, two divorces, and ongoing threats of scams, she did not crumble. It was a portrayal of Hyun-hee, who emerged stronger, transcending her tumultuous and winding life.
