Actor Jin Tae-hyeon (44) reported that he has been cured of thyroid cancer.
On the 8th, Jin Tae-hyeon shared on his social media service (SNS), "Finally, I visited the hospital two weeks after the surgery. Thanks to everyone's prayers and concerns, I am very healthy," giving an update on his condition.
He stated, "To get to the result, I can confidently say there is no cancer in my body now. I can say I've been cured through surgery," and added, "Thyroid cancer isn't really a dangerous cancer, but it's not exactly harmless either. When something like this happens to your body, everyone tends to worry and feel tense. I was the same way."
He continued, "The recovery from the surgery is completely normal. My voice, vocal cords, and thyroid levels are all normal, and the cancer has been completely removed with no metastasis to other organs. I just need to keep up with check-ups, and no additional treatment or medication is needed," and expressed, "I will return to a normal life now."
Jin Tae-hyeon remarked, "These days, it seems that society has many people who strangely try to belittle others or have the odd thought that they are superior to others. Yet, there is no one among those people who is better than anyone else."
He added, "At least those fans and acquaintances reading this should provide comfort and concern for their neighbors even when they catch a minor illness. Sometimes silence, sometimes empathy seem to be good ways to comfort someone."
Earlier, Jin Tae-hyeon publicly disclosed his thyroid cancer diagnosis in May. At that time, he stated, "It was detected early, and although it is small, surgery is necessary before it spreads," and after undergoing surgery on the 24th of last month, he reported, "The cancer cells in my body have disappeared."
Jin Tae-hyeon married actress Park Si-eun in 2015 and has three adopted daughters.
