Broadcaster Ahn Seon-young announced that she is moving to Canada, but clarified that she is not fully emigrating.
Ahn Seon-young posted a lengthy message on her SNS on the 7th, stating, "I will correct the article! I am not emigrating!!"
She explained, "I am only transferring my residence temporarily to Canada as a guardian for my child's study abroad, so I am just ending my 26-year live broadcast career because it will be impossible to do live shows, but I will run Baros online and will come to Seoul every month to visit my mother in the hospital."
She added, "Before you write the article, please watch all the videos," noting, "My aunt called me crying, asking if I was emigrating and the whole house is in chaos with the elders shocked and calling. Oh my."
Earlier, Ahn Seon-young uploaded a video titled "I, Ahn Seon-young, am leaving Korea now | Packing my suitcase" on her YouTube channel.
Ahn Seon-young stated, "In a situation where many of the things I've dreamed of for a long time are at hand, I decided to boldly end all my careers and move to Canada," shocking many. The reason Ahn Seon-young made the decision to go to Canada is because of her son.
She continued, "Baro is a child who works hard on sports as if it were his life. Fortunately, he has talent. Canada is all about ice hockey, right? He took the entrance test for a youth hockey team that even local kids find it hard to get into. They picked 13, and he got selected."
In this process, there were indeed conflicts between Ahn Seon-young and her son. She explained, "I persuaded him for a very long time, about a year. He could play hockey in Korea, but I explained that if I leave Korea, I might not be able to broadcast again. But Baro showed his determination, saying, 'This is my dream. If I can't go with you, I can go to a boarding house,' so I decided to quit my job."
Meanwhile, Ahn Seon-young married a businessman three years younger than her in 2013 and has a son. Ahn Seon-young, a first-generation entertainment show host, drew attention by stating, "I am the woman who has sold the most cosmetics in Korea. I am the woman who has sold over 1 trillion won in cosmetics," revealing that her cumulative home shopping sales have reached 1 trillion won.
