Broadcaster An Sun-young has come forward to clarify inaccurate reports regarding her immigration to Canada.
On the 7th, An posted on her social account, "I am correcting the article! I am not immigrating!"
Earlier, on the 4th, An uploaded a video titled "I, An Sun-young, am leaving Korea now" on her channel. In the video, An explained, "I have decided to put aside my entire career and move to Canada because of my son, who has long been in a situation where many of my dreams are within reach."
He noted, "Baro is a child who exercises as hard as he lives. Thankfully, he has talent. Canada is known for ice hockey, isn't it? He tried out for a youth hockey team that is difficult for local children to join. They selected 13 players, and he was one of them. It took a lot of persuasion—about a year. He can play hockey in Korea, but I told him that if I leave Korea, I might not be able to resume broadcasting. Baro showed his determination by saying, 'This is my dream. If I can't go with mom, I can go to a boarding house.' So, I decided to quit my job," he explained.
After the news broke, An's immigration rumors to Canada spread. An also has a mother suffering from dementia, and she often shares her daily life dating her mother. Following the news of An leaving for Canada, concerns about her mother arose.
In response, An posted directly, stating, "I am only transferring my residence to Canada temporarily as a guardian for my child's study abroad. I am not immigrating completely to Canada."
He said, "It's just that I am closing my 26-year live broadcasting career because it's not possible anymore, but I will operate Baros (business) online and come to Seoul every month to check on my mom at the hospital."
