The group TWS has made a stunning debut in Japan by taking over terrestrial music broadcasts and festival stages.
TWS (Shin Yu, Do Hoon, Young Jae, Han Jin, Ji Hoon, Kyung Min) participated in the music festival 'The MusiQuest 2025' held on the 6th at the National Yoyogi Stadium in Tokyo. It was their first festival stage since their debut in Japan.
TWS performed all tracks of their Japanese single 'Nice to see you again' (original title: はじめまして/하지메마시테), along with songs like 'If I am S, you be my N', 'Isn't it great to jump along with your heart?', 'Lucky to be loved', 'hey! hey!', and 'GO BACK'. The members captured the audience's attention with a refreshing yet powerful performance, spreading the vibrant charm of youth as they freely ran around the main and extension stages.
TWS said, "With our debut in Japan, we got to throw the first pitch at a baseball stadium and participated in various music broadcasts. The word 'first' always brings a good excitement." They added, "'The MusiQuest' is also our first, and I am really happy that we can perform in front of so many people after debuting in Japan. We will continue to work hard, so please support us," in Japanese.
On the 5th, TWS made an impression by appearing on 'THE MUSIC DAY 2025,' a famous summer special broadcast by Nippon TV. The broadcast introduced them as "next-generation popular artists who swept the rookie awards at Asian awards." In a subsequent street interview, local citizens expressed their expectations, stating, "Everyone dances well and is good-looking," and "They will definitely do even better in the future."
On that day, TWS showcased the Japanese version of their domestic debut song 'The first meeting doesn't go as planned' titled 'plot twist -Japanese ver.-', leaving a fresh 'K-refreshing' energy. Additionally, the members also performed a joint stage with the famous Japanese artist Kondo Masahiko. They sang Kondo Masahiko's hit song from the 1980s 'ギンギラギンにさりげなく' (Gingiraging ni Sarigenaku) with a delightful performance, leaving a deep impression on the prime-time viewers.
Immediately after the stage, the hashtag '#THEMUSICDAY' topped the real-time trends in the Japanese region X (formerly Twitter), and keywords like 'TWS-chan' and 'Ji Hoon-kun' ranked high, confirming the soaring interest toward TWS.
Additionally, TWS appeared on several terrestrial broadcasts, such as Nippon TV's information variety show 'Dayday.' and TBS's representative music program 'CDTV Live! Live!' showcasing their new songs.
Meanwhile, TWS is showing remarkable achievements alongside their debut in Japan. Their first single ranked first in the 'Daily Single Ranking' of Oricon for three consecutive days (from July 1 to 3). The music video for the title track entered the top ranks of the daily music video charts on YouTube in Korea and Japan immediately after being released on the 30th of last month, gaining popularity in both countries.
