Omniscient Interfering View's Lee Soo-ji spoke directly about the 400 million won housing fraud.
In the episode of Omniscient Interfering View that aired on the 5th, Lee Soo-ji visited Lee Young-ja's "Yumi House" and discussed the housing fraud.
On this day, Lee Soo-ji responded to Lee Young-ja's compliment of "I really like your jokes" by saying, "No. You didn't like me, senior." Lee Young-ja's memory of their first meeting was "Hello," but Lee Soo-ji mentioned that they had met during high school and brought up Lee Young-ja's second manager.
Lee Soo-ji recalled, "Uncle Han-hoon and my father are sworn brothers. Dad told Uncle Han-hoon that I wanted to become a comedian and suggested showing it to senior Lee Young-ja to see if I had the talent. I took a recorder and played it, but senior Lee Young-ja sat there and said, 'Anyone can do this. You can't become a comedian like that.'"
Lee Young-ja was surprised and said, "Did I really say that cruelly?" Lee Soo-ji responded, "I went home crying," and added, "But I heard it in my 20s. Dad asked Uncle Han-hoon to be harsh on purpose."
Then Lee Young-ja burst out laughing, saying, "I don't think you were that bad," and Lee Soo-ji replied, "That was when I was slim. I weighed 69 kg. I was pretty." In response, Lee Young-ja retorted, "I've never met anyone like that," adding, "Your dad would have opposed it. It must have been a definite no."
Lee Young-ja, who felt secretly sorry for having made Lee Soo-ji cry during high school, said, "My eyes were really fish-like," to which Lee Soo-ji replied, "No. You were under pressure," but Lee Young-ja countered, "Of course I felt that way, but I must have spoken up because I thought it was boring," causing laughter.
Meanwhile, Lee Soo-ji attracted attention by revealing that she had been defrauded of 400 million won. She stated, "Do you know why I was defrauded? I wanted to live in a place with good nature, but I purchased the wrong house." Hong Hyun-hee, who witnessed this, remarked, "I still remember. You told me you were moving house, and I thought it was great for you. I found out through an article that you had been scammed."
Lee Soo-ji said, "I really love nature. I'm genuinely very happy now," and Lee Young-ja comforted her, saying, "However, despite the popularity and challenges you've faced as Jamie Mom, I hope you can be happy at least in this moment."
Lee Soo-ji expressed her contemplation, saying, "When I struggled while doing comedy, I wondered how my seniors got through it." Lee Young-ja said, "It's hard every time. Don't people demand new things? Later, they say, 'Are you doing that again?' It seems like you're most afraid of that statement."
She continued, "I hope you don't think too much about that pain. People in other professions feel the same way. I don't think we should overstate our profession, but rather think of it as 'everyone suffers'—keeping it in check is good."
Meanwhile, Lee Young-ja treated Lee Soo-ji to delicious food and even allowed her to pick some crops herself. While they were picking peas together, Lee Young-ja asked, "Do you have your own philosophy? Like, I want to bring smiles like this?" Lee Soo-ji replied, "It's about making many people laugh, and instead, those who are affected by the jokes should receive less hurt."
Lee Young-ja then shared, "I think back then I didn't have a philosophy. Back then, my heart hurt. I had to be a funny person, but when I became just a comical person, I felt despair. There were incidents, but I wanted to lead a comedic life, and it was upsetting to become just someone comical."
