Park Gyu-young revealed the casting story for JYP on 'Heart on Wheels.'
In the second part of the 'Squid Game' special aired on the 4th, the KBS 2TV entertainment program 'Heart on Wheels' (hereafter 'Heart on Wheels') depicted Park Gyu-young sharing his debut story.
On that day, Park Gyu-young confessed that he is in his 9th year since debut, but this is his first appearance on a variety show. He said, "This is my first time, including YouTube. I wondered what kind of character I should create," but he also noted, "After seeing today, I feel a bit more certain. Everyone was giggling over trivial things, just enjoying the sunlight, sweating, and laughing at the little things, which I really liked."
Additionally, Park Gyu-young appeared as No-eul in the 'Squid Game' series. He revealed that the freckles and blemishes were all makeup. When Lee Min-jung said, "Isn't it a relief for a female actor? To look intentionally unattractive," Park Gyu-young responded, "I don't care at all. I want them to experiment with everything about me," showcasing his easygoing nature.
Meanwhile, Boom asked Park Gyu-young during dinner, "You did well academically, right? You graduated from Busan Foreign Language High School and entered Yonsei University. But why did you suddenly start acting?"
Park Gyu-young replied, "I was cast by JYP at that time," and Boom asked, "Did you audition?" In response, Park Gyu-young explained, "I was cast after seeing an advertisement in a magazine called 'College Tomorrow.' My parents like trying new things and aren't really afraid of doing things they've never done."
Hearing this, Ahn Jae-hyun said, "But if my child is pretty and has money, or talent, I think I would allow it," and Boom humorously pointed out, "We haven't talked about money yet. Does Jae-hyun have an eye for wealth?" making everyone laugh. Yang Dong-geun also chimed in with, "Do they say something like 'wealth breeds comfort'?"
In the meantime, Wi Ha-jun shared his thoughts, stating, "It seems like teamwork is good. I thought variety shows involved mischievous pranks, but..." Boom agreed, saying, "Variety shows can be stimulating," but added humorously, "I think we'll probably start such variety shows from now on. A thrilling dance party will begin. It's going to be a blast."
As soon as Boom finished speaking, the production team proposed a team competition game to the members. Yang Dong-geun, Wi Ha-jun, and Park Gyu-young actively participated, bringing even more excitement to the game.
