Actor Michael Madsen, known for his roles in the films "Kill Bill" and "Reservoir Dogs," has passed away at the age of 67.
According to reports from foreign media, including the New York Post, Madsen was found unresponsive at his home in Malibu, California, at 8:25 a.m. on the 3rd. Police and paramedics were dispatched, and he was pronounced dead.
His manager revealed that Madsen died of a heart attack, and the police stated that foul play is not suspected.
Michael Madsen was born on Sept. 25, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois, and began his acting career in the 1980s. He gained worldwide attention for his role as the cold-blooded "Mr. Blonde" in Quentin Tarantino's 1992 film "Reservoir Dogs". He played the role of Bud, a former colleague betrayed by the protagonist Bride, in the 2003 film "Kill Bill," starring Uma Thurman.
In addition, he appeared in over 300 films, including "Thelma & Louise" (1991), "Donnie Brasco" (1997), "Die Another Day" (2002), "Sin City" (2005), "The Hateful Eight" (2015), and "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" (2019).
He was actively acting until recently, and his manager noted that he had several upcoming feature films set to be released. Additionally, he was working on a poetry collection at the time of his death.
In recent years, Madsen faced personal misfortunes, including the death of his son and a marriage that ended in divorce.
Madsen's manager and publicist said, "In the last two years, Madsen granted roles in independent films such as the upcoming feature films 'Resurrection Road,' 'Concessions,' and 'Cookbook for Southern Housewives,' and he was preparing for the publication of a poetry collection that is currently being edited," adding, "Michael Madsen was one of Hollywood's iconic actors, and many will miss him."
Vivica A. Fox, who starred alongside Madsen in "Kill Bill," said, "Madsen was a talented person with an amazing presence on screen," and expressed her deep condolences.
Walton Goggins, who appeared with Madsen in "The Hateful Eight," expressed his sorrow, saying, "This man, this villain. A goddamn icon. An aura like no other. Words are not enough. Love you, buddy."
