The group ILLIT member Wonhee has made a dazzling impact, from hosting music shows to special appearances in dramas.
Wonhee served as a special MC on Mnet's 'M Countdown' broadcast on the afternoon of 3rd, teaming up with the existing MC, Sung Hanbin, from the group ZEROBASEONE.
Wonhee appeared wearing a magical girl look that matched the MC costume concept, showcasing visuals that seemed ripped from a comic. He not only displayed smooth hosting skills with witty remarks and cheerful reactions but also energized the live broadcast by skillfully presenting the featured artists' dance challenges.
ILLIT, which includes Wonhee, filled the stage with their title track 'Do the Dance' performance. They showcased a bright charm with frilly outfits accented in blue and cat ear headbands. Their relaxed facial expressions created a cute yet coy atmosphere, reminiscent of a cat.
Earlier, on the 2nd, Wonhee garnered attention for his acting debut in the SBS drama 'Spring of Youth'. This special appearance was made possible as Wonhee sings the drama's OST 'You Speak to Me'. In the final episode, he appears as a student who volunteered for medical services with Seo Taeyang (Lee Seung Hyup) at an NGO and leaves a romantic impression by gifting chocolate to Seo Taeyang, whom he meets on his way back home.
Although it was a brief scene, Wonhee left a strong impression with his distinctive bright energy and refreshing visuals. Notably, he received positive responses for his natural acting, capturing the details of every line.
ILLIT's 'Do the Dance' is gaining traction, showing an unstoppable rise as its music show stage goes viral. The song entered Melon's 'Top 100' at 76th place on the day of its release and climbed to 27th place as of 11 p.m. on the 2nd. In the daily Melon chart, it started at 82nd place (June 16), then rose to 65th (June 28), 53rd (June 30), and 43rd (July 2).
ILLIT will continue its new song activities by appearing on KBS 2TV's 'Music Bank' today (4th).
