The writer of the youth music romance "Spring of Youth" was Kim Sun-ok.
On the 3rd, a source from SBS stated to OSEN, "It is true that the script for 'Spring of Youth' was written by writer Kim Sun-ok."
Earlier, a media outlet reported that writer Kim Sun-ok penned the script for SBS 'Spring of Youth'. According to the report, Kim Sun-ok did not want to instill preconceived notions among the public, so she concealed her name while writing the script.
Kim Sun-ok attended the script reading for "Spring of Youth" and also participated in a gathering with the cast and crew after filming concluded in April, showcasing her affection for the work.
Earlier, Kim Sun-ok made her debut by writing the script for the MBC Best Theater "Pride in Love" in 2000, and later gained significant recognition through "Wife's Temptation", which exceeded a 40% viewer rating. After "Wife's Temptation", she penned works such as "Come! Jang Bo-ri", "My Daughter, Geum Sa-wol", "Sisters Are Alive", "The Crowned Clown", the "Penthouse" series, and the "Escaping 7" series, earning her the title of "the queen of Korean makjang dramas."
"Spring of Youth", written by Kim Sun-ok, depicts the story of the star of the top K-pop band "Saki", who is expelled from the team, starting a tumultuous college life and meeting "Kim Bom" as if it were fate, ultimately making a spectacular comeback. The drama features performances by Ha Yu-jun, Park Ji-hoo, Lee Seung-hyup, Seo Hye-won, and Kim Sun-min.
In its first episode, "Spring of Youth" recorded a 1.4% viewership rating, but struggled to rise from the 0% range. However, the finale, which aired on the 2nd, recorded a viewership rating of 1.0%, bringing the show to a close. It is significant that writer Kim Sun-ok was able to write a youth romance rather than a makjang drama.
