"The other day, I almost fell for fraud"… Comedienne Paeng Hyun-sook makes her first confession about a household real estate fraud
On 'Save Me! Homes,' comedienne Paeng Hyun-sook revealed for the first time that she almost fell victim to fraud while investing in real estate. She has been continuing her real estate investment while balancing studying and practical experience, emphasizing the reality that scams are frequent enough to require caution.
On the MBC program 'Save Me! Homes,' which aired on the 3rd, Paeng Hyun-sook candidly shared her know-how and practical experience as an investor, fitting her nickname as "the big potato in the field."
Paeng Hyun-sook said, "I think of it as traveling while visiting sites. I know the market prices, eat delicious food, and doing field work myself is 'real investment.'" She emphasized, "Just searching on a computer is 'younger generation,' not 'field work.'" She added, "It's important to invest with my own money that I've seen myself."
Paeng Hyun-sook also mentioned the risks of real estate fraud. He noted, "There are really many scams in the real estate industry," advising, "Usually, transactions worth hundreds of millions, even billions, occur, so one must be careful." He shared a recent story, saying, "The other day, I mistakenly signed a contract and barely got the household deposit back," surprising the studio. When the cast expressed their astonishment, asking, "You study a lot, and yet you nearly fell for fraud?" Paeng Hyun-sook replied, "That's why we need to be more cautious. It means scams are that common."
So what is his on-site visiting know-how? Paeng Hyun-sook said, "In rural or regional real estate, I approach naturally through greetings and small talk," adding, "In that process, I also hear about local market prices and the vibe of the people. You can't know unless you go yourself." She further disclosed, "Rumors say that I'm rich in real estate, but in fact, I've gone bankrupt too much and have many loans," stressing again, "You can't just trust real estate. You must also put in the work yourself."
