'Love, Take Two' arrives as a drama that serves as a comma in daily life.
Set to air for the first time on Aug. 4 (Mon.) on tvN, the new Monday-Tuesday drama 'Love, Take Two' (directed by Yoo Je-won, written by Sung Woo-jin, planned and produced by Studio Dragon and Showrunners) unveiled its poster and teaser filled with the emotions and romance of summer on the 3rd.
'Love, Take Two' depicts the story of a single mother and her medical student daughter who unexpectedly enter the second act of life and decide to live for today's happiness, not tomorrow's, facing a story of first love that is not an ending but a beginning. At times cheerful and at times heartwarming, their gift-like story is expected to bring laughter, excitement, emotion, and empathy. Directed by Yoo Je-won, who has been loved for the warm and delicate directing in works like 'My Mom's Friend's Son,' 'Crash Course in Romance,' and 'Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha,' and writer Sung Woo-jin, known for their solid and fresh storytelling, are collaborating to heighten anticipation.
The teaser released that day captures the landscapes of leisurely and quiet nature, escaping from the busy and cramped city. From the greenery and soft sunlight of early summer to the sounds of rain under the eaves and the flowing stream, it naturally heals the eyes, ears, and heart. Meanwhile, a pink comma that rises into the sky painted red over the sea transforms into a heart, leading to the title 'Love, Take Two,' stirring curiosity about the first broadcast coming in a little over a month.
The released poster also reveals the fresh greenery and pleasant leisure throughout. A group of four, sitting side by side on a hill full of wildflowers, enjoying the clear sky and refreshing breeze, captures the eye. Most importantly, the warm and fresh two-shots of Lee Ji-an (played by Yum Jung-ah) and Ryu Jung-seok (played by Park Hae-joon), as well as Lee Hyori (played by Choi Yoon-ji) and Ryu Bo-hyun (played by Kim Min-kyu), spark curiosity about their relationships.
Accompanying this is a small, pretty camper van loaded with travel bags and the phrase, 'We have decided to live for today's happiness' which draws attention to the story of Lee Ji-an and Lee Hyori, a mother-daughter duo who took a break from their hectic lives. The determination to live for 'today's happiness,' not tomorrow's or the next, evokes genuine empathy and support.
Expectations are also high for the first love combination of Yum Jung-ah, Park Hae-joon, Choi Yoon-ji, and Kim Min-kyu, who portray romantic experiences of 'excessive purity' in middle age and 'excessive excitement' in youth, as well as family love characterized by 'excessive affection.' Yum Jung-ah plays Lee Ji-an, a confident single mother who has lived firmly. She is a site manager dominating construction sites, but a soft-hearted mother in front of her daughter, Lee Hyori. Park Hae-joon takes on the role of Ryu Jung-seok, Lee Ji-an's first love, who is a prickly architectural designer. As a single dad living with his son Ryu Bo-hyun, he is proud and cold, but he becomes disarmed in front of Lee Ji-an. The acting transformation of Yum Jung-ah and Park Hae-joon is highly anticipated, as well as their cheerful and thrilling Tikitaka interactions.
Meanwhile, the chemistry of up-and-coming actors Choi Yoon-ji and Kim Min-kyu as young enthusiasts is also a point of anticipation not to be missed. Choi Yoon-ji will play Lee Hyori, a young wanderer who deviates from her structured life as a medical student and suddenly embarks on her greatest escape. Kim Min-kyu will portray Ryu Bo-hyun, an emerging center figure in the youth farming world. Having now cultivated a flower farm for six years, he begins to bloom new feelings due to Lee Hyori. Expectations rise not only for the romance between the two but also for the emotional and special mother-daughter relationship and the 'outer tough, inner soft' father-son relationship with Yum Jung-ah and Park Hae-joon.
Meanwhile, the new Monday-Tuesday drama 'Love, Take Two' on tvN will premiere on Aug. 4 (Mon.) at 8:50 p.m.
