David Corns expressed his thoughts on playing 'Superman'.
On the 3rd, a live conference for the movie 'Superman' was held at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall in Seoul. The event was attended by director James Gunn, David Corns (playing Superman), Rachel Brosnahan (playing Lois Lane), and Nicholas Hoult (playing Lex Luthor).
The movie 'Superman' is a large-scale superhero action blockbuster in which 'Superman,' the most powerful being on Earth, faces off against the worst enemies intent on destroying the world. This marks the directorial debut of James Gunn, who has captivated movie fans with his unique direction in films such as 'The Suicide Squad' and the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' series, as he assumes the new leadership at DC Studios and takes on directing and screenwriting.
In particular, David Corns performed passionately as 'Superman,' following in the footsteps of Henry Cavill, who portrayed the character in previous films.
Regarding his feelings about joining the DC Universe, David said, "It's really true that as an actor playing any character, there have already been great actors in the public eye, like Henry Cavill, who performed similar roles. Just being able to take on roles that many great actors have done is a rare opportunity."
He continued, "So rather than feeling pressure, I felt supported by truly outstanding friends who have already done a great job of building the character, which gives me strength," and expressed his gratitude.
Additionally, he said, "Coming from the position of taking on roles that have been played by truly excellent actors, I felt like I was embarking on an exploration. I believe I've played a role in nurturing this character for a new generation. Superman is loved by people of all ages, especially by young friends, so being part of this and having the opportunity to bring the director's vision of the character to new audiences was a great opportunity," expressing his gratitude.
