The romance between Seo Hyun and Ok Taecyeon has fully ignited as 'The First Night With the Duke' enters its latter narrative.
In the 7th episode of the KBS 2TV Wednesday-Thursday drama 'The First Night With the Duke' (directed by Lee Woonghee and Kang Suyeon, written by Jeon Sunyoung, planned and produced by Studio N and Monster Union), which aired yesterday (2nd), a dynamic development unfolded from the date between the supporting character Cha Seon-taek (played by Seo Hyun) and the main character This (played by Ok Taecyeon) that exceeded the allowed limits to the appearance of the new variable Seong Hyun-gun Lee Gyu (played by Lee Tae-sun).
On that day, Cha Seon-taek, who was pushed into a pond by an unidentified person, barely saved her life with the help of This. In that moment of crisis, being the first to think of him made Cha Seon-taek and This clearly realize their feelings for each other, and following their first night together, the two swiftly confirmed their hearts on the second night.
The next morning, Cha Seon-taek prepared breakfast herself, realizing a bucket list of a reality college student through a hotel breakfast date. However, the completed food was so unpalatable that even the maids and servants exclaimed, 'This is not something to eat,' leading to unexpected trials for This. Nevertheless, in response to Cha Seon-taek's affectionate words, 'I will make breakfast like this every day from now on,' This cleared his plate and added to the sweet atmosphere.
Afterward, Cha Seon-taek made a bombshell statement in front of her family, who scolded her for being out overnight, saying, 'I will marry and become an outsider as soon as possible,' while This, holding a wedding text, expressed his determination, saying he would not reject being a son-in-law. Ultimately, this unrestrained couple's actions led to a situation where Cha Seon-taek's father, Cha Ho-yeol (played by Seo Hyun-cheol), collapsed from stress.
Their sweet mood continued thereafter. This rented out an entire street for a private date with Cha Seon-taek, enjoying a cozy atmosphere together. They even exchanged quite specific plans for children, expressing a desire for ten, which heightened the pace of their romance.
Meanwhile, the feelings of the supporting male character Jung Soo-gyeom (played by Seo Bum-jun) towards the female lead Jo Eun-ae (played by Kwon Han-sol) deepened. When he confided his worries to This, This advised him based on his own experience to always pursue directly. Consequently, Jung Soo-gyeom went to the place where Jo Eun-ae was serving and ended up sharing a popular dish he usually avoided, creating a good atmosphere.
However, Jung Soo-gyeom's father Jung Mun-seok (played by Jung Ho-bin), who accidentally witnessed the two, openly expressed his dissatisfaction, saying he was 'associating with an orphan,' and Jung Soo-gyeom was ultimately dragged away by his father, leaving Jo Eun-ae alone.
In the meantime, the emergence of a new character raised the sense of crisis between Cha Seon-taek and This. Seong Hyun-gun Lee Gyu, who returned to the capital after a long banishment, recognized Cha Seon-taek with enthusiasm and revealed that they had promised to marry in the past, creating a significant atmosphere. He then expressed sharp suspicions, saying, 'She is somehow different from the Cha Seon-taek I knew,' which startled Cha Seon-taek.
Afterward, Lee Gyu appeared in front of Cha Seon-taek during their date, making his presence known. Eventually, he re-encountered This, with whom he had a karmic connection from childhood, creating a peculiar tension. As the royal hunting dog This, the banished Seong Hyun-gun Lee Gyu, and the wedding promise entangled with Cha Seon-taek intersect, attention is focused on what kind of turmoil will unfold among the three.
With curiosity about the story of Seo Hyun, Ok Taecyeon, and Lee Tae-sun increasing, the 8th episode of the KBS 2TV Wednesday-Thursday drama 'The First Night With the Duke' will air tonight (3rd) at 9:50 p.m.
