The group ENHYPEN is ramping up for a local comeback, starting with the pre-release of a new song in Japan.
ENHYPEN (Jungwon, Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, Ni-ki) announced through the team's official social media on the 1st that they will pre-release the title song 'Shine On Me' at midnight on the 4th ahead of the release of their fourth Japanese single '宵 -YOI-'.
'Shine On Me' is a J-pop ballad that delicately expresses the emotions of midsummer, depicting the story that begins from the moment you, shining like a star, appear in front of me during my tired days. The band's sound that conveys the season's air and the melodic lines filled with rich emotions are impressive.
This song has been selected as the ending theme for the Japanese Nihon TV series CTV Wednesday drama 'I Want to Catch Shrimp (海老だってが釣りたい),' raising expectations. As soon as a preview video of the drama featuring part of the song was released this morning (the 2nd), it garnered a positive response. This drama is a romantic comedy where an ordinary office worker female protagonist finds true love and herself through encounters and breakups with four different men.
The upcoming release on the 29th, '宵 -YOI-,' is a single that expresses desire and instinct towards a loved one. It will include a total of three tracks: the title song 'Shine On Me', the sweet pop track 'Echoes' that sings about wanting to take you into a world just for the two of us, and the Japanese version of the title track 'Bad Desire (With or Without You)' from mini album 6, 'DESIRE: UNLEASH.'
ENHYPEN is set to heat up the local scene with their stadium performances in Japan. They will hold the 'ENHYPEN WORLD TOUR 'WALK THE LINE' IN JAPAN -SUMMER EDITION-' at Tokyo's Ajinomoto Stadium on the 5th and 6th and at Osaka's Yanmar Stadium Nagai on August 2nd and 3rd. This marks the shortest period (4 years and 7 months) for an overseas artist to enter a Japanese stadium after debut.
Meanwhile, ENHYPEN's mini album 'DESIRE: UNLEASH' ranked 62nd on the latest Billboard chart (as of July 5). The album previously entered this chart at 3rd and maintained its ranking for three consecutive weeks. Additionally, it reclaimed the top spot on the 'World Albums' chart and placed 3rd on both the 'Top Album Sales' and 'Top Current Album Sales' charts.
