National actor Shin Gu (real name Shin Soon-ki, 88) has bid farewell to his beloved wife.
On the 2nd, Shin Gu's wife, the late Ha Jeong-sook, passed away at the age of 87.
The mortuary is set up in Room 30 of Seoul Asan Medical Center, where Shin Gu, along with his son and daughter-in-law, has registered as a bereaved family member to welcome visitors.
In the past, Shin Gu revealed his deep affection, saying on a broadcast, "I met my current wife through an introduction by a junior. She is the most precious person to me."
He also candidly shared about his 'premarital pregnancy' marriage, saying, "I had the ceremony in May, and my son's birthday is July 4. He came into this world without any doubt." When the production team remarked, "You are the original of the premarital pregnancy," Shin Gu cleverly responded, "Premarital pregnancy is not regulated by law," evoking laughter.
Following the news of the passing of his lifelong partner, condolences from inside and outside the entertainment industry are ongoing.
Shin Gu debuted as a theater actor in 1962, marking his 64th year in the industry this year. He has been active across various fields, including theater, drama, film, and entertainment, earning him the title of 'national actor.' He showcased a strong presence in serious dramas and delightful charm in sitcoms, gaining love from a broad range of generations. In the entertainment program 'Grandpas Over Flowers,' he revealed his unique cheerful and warm charm, communicating closely with the public.
Recently, he proved his resilience on screen by showing a different transformation as the main villain 'Young-chun' in the film 'High Five.'
Meanwhile, the late Ha Jeong-sook's funeral will be held at 5:20 a.m. on the 4th and will be interred at Gwangneung Memorial Park.
