Canadian singer JK Kim Dong-wook has been accused of spreading false information about President Lee Jae-myung and the current government, continuing to take shots at them.
Recently, JK Kim Dong-wook said on his social media, "Basic income for cultural and artistic personnel? I'll just go first," adding, "When building a sandcastle, everyone carefully and wholeheartedly piled it up, but it feels like everything is collapsing in an instant as the waves come crashing in."
He further added, "People who are applauding and saying it's good. All of this cannot be our will. Is it ultimately your will?"
JK Kim Dong-wook is known to be a Korean-Canadian and holds Canadian citizenship. He is exempt from military service and has no voting rights in Korea due to his different nationality.
However, regarding the state of emergency declared by former President Yoon Suk-yeol on December 3 last year, he is also raising his voice in defense, stating it is not a rebellion. In January, it was reported exclusively by OSEN that JK Kim Dong-wook was accused of violating the Immigration Control Act, but he continues to make political statements.
In particular, JK Kim Dong-wook recently criticized President Lee Jae-myung for attending the G7 summit, saying, "These leftist bastards, do they all go to the same academy at the level of direct message? Just check if you were invited to the G7 held in Canada and come back to DM me, older brother," and posted a critical message. This claim stemmed from a conspiracy theory that the presidential office's announcement of the G7 summit invitation was false.
Shin Seung-mok, representative of the People's Participation Coalition for the Elimination of Corruption, stated he decided to report JK Kim Dong-wook for violating the Information and Communications Network Act, noting, "It is as if President Lee Jae-myung and the presidential office are spreading false information, and he violated the Information and Communications Network Act by spreading false information for malicious defamation purposes."
