Actor Yoo Jun-sang has transformed into an entertainment representative.
Channel A's new Saturday-Sunday drama 'My lovely journey' (planned by Channel A, directed by Kang Sol, written by Jeong Hoe-hyun, produced by Big Ocean ENM) has confirmed its first broadcast on Aug. 2 (Saturday), with Yoo Jun-sang's first still image as Oh Sang-sik, the representative of Ogu Entertainment, being released, intensifying curiosity.
'My lovely journey' is a full-fledged healing trip emotional drama depicting the process of realizing true success and the meaning of life as an idol-turned travel reporter undertakes commissioned trips. It has garnered attention for being a drama perfectly tailored for the summer vacation season this summer, stirring viewers' travel instincts with overwhelming visual beauty capturing beautiful scenic spots both domestically and internationally. In addition, it promises to immerse home viewers in true healing and emotion with a heartwarming, humanistic story, and a perfect ensemble of attractive actors including Gong Seung-yeon, Yoo Jun-sang, and Kim Jae-young, along with diverse chemistry.
In the recently released stills, Yoo Jun-sang captivates with his perfect immersion in the character Oh Sang-sik, the representative of Ogu Entertainment, who has undergone a tumultuous life journey. In the first still, Sang-sik, dressed neatly in a checkered jacket, is captured gazing deeply at someone. His extensive experience gained from past careers as a boxer and manager is palpable, revealing his unique backbone as he steadfastly endures the harsh realities of the entertainment industry. Notably, his serious gaze and expression reflect a complex psyche where realistic concerns and hopes for the future intersect, further heightening curiosity about the character Oh Sang-sik.
In another still, Sang-sik is seen raising his finger to presumably boost employee morale and exhibiting his leadership. This showcases Sang-sik as the entertainment representative on the brink of failure but sharing a dream that artists with kind hearts under the name 'Ogu' will one day create films and dramas that bring happiness to people. Although many may mock this dream, Sang-sik's optimistic and passionate efforts to pursue it tirelessly can be observed. His unwavering conviction and sincerity, especially reflected in his gaze, suggest a philosophy that chases true value rather than success for Oh Sang-sik.
Finally, Sang-sik's gaze toward somewhere appears ordinary at first glance but belies an undeniable boxer instinct that catches attention. His expression, which exudes a strange charisma, conveys a determination to never give up and to fight until the end against the harsh entertainment industry. Particularly, his complex narrative with a surprising past as the youngest son of a family of doctors amplifies expectations about how this will impact the tumultuous future of Ogu Entertainment and the future of the heart-wrenching entertainment representative Oh Sang-sik.
In response, the production team noted, "Yoo Jun-sang has completed the character of Oh Sang-sik in a more three-dimensional and attractive way with his profound understanding of the character and delicate acting skills." They added, "Although he faces a harsh reality on the surface, viewers can anticipate Yoo Jun-sang's performance that perfectly captures the charming contrast of Oh Sang-sik, who has a warm humanity and a passionate dream like no other."
