The writer Park Cheon-hyu of the musical 'Perhaps a Happy Ending' denied rumors of a couple relationship with the duo Will.
On the special 300th episode of tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block' aired on the 2nd, the six-time Tony Award winner Park Cheon-hyu recalled, "I was active as a songwriter in Korea and then studied visual arts at New York University. Will studied musical theater, and I studied English and art. A friend who knows both Will and me introduced us."
He added, "A Korean musical producer listened to Will's work and suggested to adapt 'Bungee Jumping of Their Own' into a musical. Will said he would work with me, so I became the songwriter. It made me smile to think that my wandering all this time was to do musicals."
At the 2025 Tony Awards held in New York, 'Perhaps a Happy Ending' swept a total of six awards including Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, Best Original Score, Best Direction of a Musical, Best Scenic Design, and Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical. At the time, Park Cheon-hyu went on stage and joked, "We are not a couple," creating a sea of laughter in the audience.
In a video call conducted with 'You Quiz,' Will said, "Meeting Hyu completely changed my life. He is a friend who inspires me. Meeting Hyu was a stroke of luck. The robot idea in 'Perhaps a Happy Ending' was the best. It had a unique and emotional image. I wanted to create character stories together," smiling broadly.
