The group TWS colors Japan's summer with refreshing hues.
TWS (Shin-yu, Do-hoon, Young-jae, Han-jin, Ji-hoon, Kyung-min) released their first Japanese single "Nice to see you again" (original title はじめまして/하지메마시테) today (the 2nd). On the same day, they will hold a debut showcase in Tokyo, officially launching their local activities.
The new album captures the essence of TWS's unique genre, "Boyhood Pop." "Nice to see you again" is a piece that delivers special excitement in everyday life, reminiscent of shining summer memories. The title track's lyrics evoke the youthful emotions of dreaming of a new beginning through a relationship defined by "we" rather than "you" and "me." It emphasizes the group's special features, with a refreshing sound and lively performance that anyone can enjoy comfortably.
"BLOOM (feat. Ayumu Imazu)" features popular artist Ayumu Imazu, who contributed by writing the lyrics and composing, as well as participating in the featuring. This song was also selected as the opening theme for the Japanese TV animation "A Bouquet for the Ugly One," which will air starting in July. In addition, the album includes three tracks, including the Japanese version of the domestic debut song "Our First Meeting Didn't Go as Planned," which shines at the top of the Melon annual chart in 2024, titled "plot twist -Japanese ver.-."
There are considerable local expectations for the Japanese debut of this major newcomer, which has swept the music charts. After the music video for the title track was released on the 30th of last month, keywords like "TWS-chan" (a term of endearment) and "Japanese debut" rose to prominence on Japan's X (formerly Twitter) real-time trends. Immediately following their performance on TBS's "CDTV Live! Live!" on the same day, keywords related to TWS, such as "CDTV Live! Live!" and "full-size" (referring to the full version of the stage), were also trending at the top.
In particular, viewers who watched the title track performance on "CDTV Live! Live!" praised it, saying, "A perfect live that embodies the term super rookie," "As expected, it was the performance of TWS that can be trusted," and "A stage that sparkles and shines with refreshing energy."
Meanwhile, TWS will appear on popular terrestrial programs, including Nihon TV's informational variety show "Dayday" on the 3rd and Nihon TV's summer special music program "THE MUSIC DAY 2025" on the 5th. They will then embark on their first tour in Japan, titled "2025 TWS TOUR '24/7:WITH:US' IN JAPAN," starting from July 11, with a total of 13 shows across six cities.
