Tablo of Epik High, who appeared on 'Radio Star', reveals the process behind the YouTube channel he opened 13 years ago, which has recently surpassed 1 million subscribers. The MBC program 'Radio Star' (planned by Kang Young-seon / directed by Kim Myung-yeop, Hwang Yoon-sang, Byeon Da-hee), which will air on Wednesday, Feb. 2, at 10:30 p.m., will be themed 'YouTube Stars' featuring Tablo, Im Woo-il, Tukutz, and Kim Won-hoon.
Tablo noted, "Subscribers increased rapidly just six months after I started posting entertaining content on YouTube," explaining that he adheres to the 'three no's principle' of 'no makeup, no styling, no script.' He added, "There are many responses saying they like the old UCC vibe," and shared an anecdote where he posted a celebratory video ahead of reaching 1 million subscribers, only to see the count drop, making the studio burst into laughter.
He also shares his experience of entering the Billboard 200 with a track he collaborated on with BTS RM, rather than with the members of Epik High. Tablo remarked, "The song I worked on with RM during his military service made it to the Billboard album chart," joking, "It could be the first and last record. "
Tablo stated, "Tukutz and I tease each other with a 'daily mockery' habit," vividly illustrating the naked truth of their 23-year teamwork. He confessed that they faced a disbandment crisis twice due to conflicts over musical perspectives and recently revealed that he still feels a significant personality difference, drawing laughter from the audience.
After marrying actress Kang Hye-jung, Tablo shares updates about his daughter Haru, who gained love as the 'nation's niece' on 'Return of Superman.' He said, "She has already turned 13. She's passing through puberty without any issues," and added, "Now we're like friends." He further conveyed his sincere educational philosophy, stating, "I want to show my daughter that academic background is not everything in life."
