Actress Charlize Theron criticized the 70 billion won wedding of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez.
Page Six reported on the 29th (local time) that Charlize Theron was not particularly impressed by the extravagant $50 million (approximately 70 billion Hanwha) wedding held by Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez in Venice, Italy.
According to the report, Charlize Theron made a blunt joke directed at Jeff Bezos and former broadcast journalist Lauren Sanchez during the 'Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project' block party event held last Saturday at Universal Studios in Los Angeles.
Theron said on stage, "We might be the only ones not invited to Bezos' wedding, but that's okay. They're annoying, and we're cool," while laughing.
He also expressed, "Thank you for being here at a time when the world seems to be on fire," adding, "Here in Los Angeles, across the United States, and globally, we are rapidly regressing into the past. Immigration policies are destroying the lives of families, not criminals, women's rights are decreasing daily, the existence of queer and transgender individuals is increasingly being erased, and gender-based violence is on the rise. This is not just a policy; it is our very lives."
Theron added further sarcasm towards the Bezos couple as the audience cheered.
Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez held a three-day lavish wedding in Venice, with the estimated expense of their wedding being between $47 million and $56 million (approximately 63 billion to 76 billion Hanwha). It is reported that celebrities including Kim Kardashian, Tom Brady, Orlando Bloom, Ivanka Trump, Leonardo DiCaprio, Oprah Winfrey, and Usher attended their wedding.
