Composer Joo Young-hoon has undergone emergency surgery.
Joo Young-hoon's wife Lee Yoon-mi reported on her husband's health issue through her social account in the early hours of the 1st. Previously, the couple had traveled to Jeju Island with their children.
He said, "I had severe abdominal pain and couldn't walk, so I took an ambulance. After receiving an IV, I felt a bit better and came back. I looked quite haggard. At that time, I thought it was just a stomach cramp," adding, "I took him home safely." Joo Young-hoon complained of sudden severe abdominal pain while traveling and sought treatment in the emergency room, only to return to his accommodation after just receiving an IV.
However, he suffered from chills and high fever from 1 a.m. and headed back to the emergency room. Lee Yoon-mi noted, "We went for a CT scan and tests," adding, "I'm writing this while waking up. Thank you for all the concern and prayers."
She continued, "I hope nothing is wrong with the CT scan. The youngest son of Yoon-mi's family. They say it's okay, but they told me to wait while seated, and I can't feel at ease," saying, "I had a fever in the early morning and took 2 children's fever-reducing medications. From now on, I'll make sure to pack adult medication as well. Anyway, let's wait for the results."
Later, as morning approached, Lee Yoon-mi revealed that Joo Young-hoon was "in emergency surgery." He said, "Thank you for your concern and prayers," praying to the medical staff, "I hope everything goes well." He added, "Get through the surgery bravely. This trip would have already left us enough memories as it is. Our unforgettable Ep3 of our lives."
The shared photos included Joo Young-hoon entering the operating room and the "appendectomy consent form." Lee Yoon-mi was seen reviewing the precautions written on the consent form. An appendectomy is a surgery to remove the appendix, and since it is primarily for the treatment of acute appendicitis, it appears that Joo Young-hoon's abdominal pain was caused by appendicitis.
Joo Young-hoon's surgery was successfully completed. Around noon, Lee Yoon-mi posted an additional message, saying, "Thanks to everyone's prayers, the emergency appendectomy was successful. My husband needs to rest today. While he is hospitalized, I'll take care of what he needs, and I'm off to create good memories with our kids!"
She added, "There are many things in life, but each record today becomes our life. So every day given to us is precious, and I'll record this: Our slightly more special trip to Jeju."
Meanwhile, Joo Young-hoon and Lee Yoon-mi married in 2006 and have three daughters.
