Yeom Gyeong-hwan shared an unfortunate story about his wife being slapped by a drunken customer at a restaurant she operated in Vietnam.
On the 30th, a video titled "I made 5 billion won from home shopping. KBS, MBC, and SBS are all out! Yeom Gyeong-hwan announces his retirement from entertainment" was released on the YouTube channel Zzanbro.
At this event, comedian Yeom Gyeong-hwan revealed not only the story of leaving the entertainment industry to challenge himself in the restaurant business in Vietnam but also the decisive reason for his return to Korea.
Yeom Gyeong-hwan confessed, "I was settling down while running a Japanese restaurant in Vietnam, but my wife was slapped by a drunken Korean expatriate." He added, "I heard the news at that time and immediately flew to Vietnam. The perpetrator never properly apologized, and eventually, it left a mark on his record for assault," expressing his unfortunate feelings.
He continued, "I was very sorry for not being there at that time. Seeing my wife struggling so much, I decided that 'we should return to Korea now.' I thought to myself that there should be no more harm coming to my family." He also revealed, "To be honest, I had the desire to continue living abroad, but I realized again that family comes first."
After returning to Korea, he is enjoying a second prime in the home shopping industry. Previously, he mentioned on a program, "I have 100 home shopping schedules in a month, and the cumulative record for sold-out items is close to 300," which surprised many, and added, "At first, I was renting, but after moving through jeonse, I now own my home."
Yeom Gyeong-hwan is on a successful path, with rumors of an annual income of 3 billion won. He emphasized again the importance of a life with family, saying, "I will devote myself to broadcasting."
